Just in case you
were wondering, Omaha is located west of Iowa, south of S. Dakota and
north of Kansas. I would have never guessed in my wildest dreams
that I would have ended up in
Omaha, Nebraska, home of the
Cornhuskers (formally the Bugeaters) and the College World Series.
I know what you all are thinking, Nebraskans are a bunch of farmers and
hicks. Well, that is not true. We give that title to the
city across the river, Council
Bluffs, Iowa or also known as
Council "Tucky." I ended up in
Omaha, through a job promotion that I
accepted with enthusiasm. Several years ago, I was offered a promotion
to Chicago. Instead of
accepting the position, I decided to resign and pursue a career in the
banking industry where I am now a Commercial Lender for our Corporate
Banking Group. My wife and I enjoy living in
Omaha, but we do love our trips
back to Alexandria where
there are real lakes. We
have 4 beautiful children that keep us very busy. Our 7 year old
daughter is on a traveling dance team, traveling swim team, girl scouts,
soccer and piano. Our 5 year old boy (born on 9/11/2001, the
actual day of the World Trade
Center) is just getting started
(Ufda). Thank goodness my wife is a stay at home mom. In
addition to my job, I also own a national fast food restaurant.
Several years ago, I had the opportunity to purchase a commercial lot
next to a Super Target and Super Wal-Mart. My choices were to
build a Dairy Queen Grill & Chill or a Runza. I decided to go with
the Runza (web page Runza.com)
due to its local popularity.
Most of you are not familiar with this restaurant but it is very similar
to a Culvers. Currently, there are over 70 stores primarily in
Nebraska, with 1 in Colorado, 2 in Kansas, and 1 in Iowa. I plan on
opening my second store this fall. See you all soon. |
