In the last 10
years I finally found a great woman to share my life with. I
batted way outside my league with Kris, she has seven years of college I
have seven months. Now that 40 is on the horizon Kris and I are
starting to make more plans to travel in the next five years.
Destinations are: 1) Finland, 2) Thailand, 3) a quick trip to LA to meet
up with friends from Finland that just left us after a 2-week stay.
During my twenties I was able to work in the
Cayman Islands; Deer Valley UT;
Hot Springs, Virginia (Sam Sneed the golf Legend was my back door
neighbor), and downtown Minneapolis cooking in high-end
restaurants. Three of those restaurants ranked in the country and one
had world ranking. Very high stress, but I ate and drank well. I
left the culinary field to open the Daily Grind with my mother in
Alexandria, and after three
years it was time to try something else. So, I started buying old homes
that I renovated and sold. Now I stick to doing kitchens and bathrooms
in the metro area. I am continually trying to start a wine collection
for my retirement but that does not go very well as I tend to drink most
of what I buy. I am also trying to be the best dad I can be for Chase
and Miana. Chase is with his dad for five weeks in Georgia which is
taking a toll on all of us. I am excited to see those who I have not
talked to in 20 years, as well as those who I run into when I visit my
parents. (My parents still live in Alex on Lake Le Homme Dieu, so its a
lot of fun boating and snowmobiling with my family when I get the chance
to return to Alexandria). See you all soon! |
