What is a cigarette? It is a slender roll of cut tobacco enclosed in paper and meant to be smoked. Why is it bad? Smoking causes an irreversible change in the structure and function of the body. You could have stop smoking years ago, but the damage is already done. You cannot change it. You should not start smoking, so as to not get into the habit.
Smoking increases the risk of suffering from a disease or some other threat to your health. Smoking causes cancer and heart disease. It also causes a permanent effect on the respiratory tract and skin. Smoking causes serious health consequences for children born to smoking mothers. Also second-hand smoking puts other peoples health in risk. Why would you want to put your loved ones health in danger?
Smoking a pack a day for a year, is like spreading a cup of tar over your respiratory track. This causes bad breath, cough, bronchitis and/or pneumonia. You may also develop emphysema, which permanently changes the structure in the lungs tissue. It causes slowness in lung development and in the level of maximum lung function. You cannot run or even walk as far or as fast as non-smokers. A smoker becomes tried really easily and you usually get wheeze and have complications in breathing. It also makes permanent changes in the cell lining of the respiratory tract. This can lead up to cancer. Fifty percent of the people who are diagnosed with lung cancer are ex-smokers.
Premature coronary heart disease (CHD) is the most important consequence of smoking. CHD affects the arteries that supply blood to the heart muscle. Heart cells depend on these arteries to bring them oxygen and carry away waste. If they do not receive a sufficient amount of blood then the cells can get damaged or die. Sudden death might be the first sign of this disease.
Researchers believe that smoking causes vision loss by stopping blood flow to the eye. Another visual problem which is caused by smoking is cataract. A cataract is clouding of the lens. Smoking decreases the flow of oxygen and nutrients to skin cells. This makes the skin pale, grayish and wrinkled. The only way to get rid of them is through expensive surgery. Why would you want to pay so much money for something that could have been prevented for free?! Fifty percent of lung cancers are being diagnosed in ex-smokers.
Smokers think that they can quit and all the damages that have been done will go away and that they are risk free from diseases. That is so NOT TRUE. Getting into the habit of smoking causes heart disease, cancer, wrinkles, damage to your respiratory track, and affects the people around you. By getting into this bad habit is like inviting all these things to happen to your body. Why would you want to start smoking? Is it because you think it is cool. Its not so cool when you develop lung cancer and you will have to start going to hospital constantly to get check-ups and take a lot of medication. It wont be so cool when your unborn child has a big risk in having a defeasance. It wont so be cool when you have a whole bunch of wrinkles on your face when you are young and the only way to get rid of them is by expensive surgery. It wont be so cool when you die from this habit. All of this could have been prevented by doing one simple thing, NOT SMOKING. And its the most inexpensive way of keeping your health and skin from all of this. Do not make smoking a habit.
