Adults always say that teenagers(adolescents) have it easy. They say that they don't have any worries. The truth is that an adolescents life is similar to adult's life. The similarities can not be seen directly, but by looking closely you can see the similarities.
Adults get a lot of stress from their jobs. Same goes for adolescents, except that their job is school. Both jobs and schools cause a lot of stress in both lives. Adults are always trying to meet certain deadlines. Adolescents are trying to get their reports and term papers in on time.
Adolescents are always eager for Thanksgiving or Christmas break. They just can't wait to have a break from all the teachers and enjoy themselves. Adults also can't wait for holidays to come around. They want a break from their bosses and to just relax. Also both groups try to maintain some what of a soical status. They are always trying to find time for their friends and families. They just don't want to "work" all the time.
The most obvious thing that adults and adolescents have in common is their appearance. Most are concerned about how they look. They are worried about if the shoes they are wearing match the shirt that they have on. Adults do this to impress their boss. They also make sure that they match to show that they are organized and neat. Adolescents worry about their appearance just as much for almost the same reasons. Teenagers are trying to impress people of the opposite sex, instead of their bosses (teachers). Teenagers also like to present themselves as clean and organized people.
As you can see adults and adolescents have few things in common. The similarites between the both are not easily seen, but they do exist. In order to see them, you have to subsitute certain things. So adults can not say that adolescents have it easy, and teenagers can not say that adults are lucky because they do not have to go to school and stuff.
