To Be A Democrat

Throughout U.S. history, the Democratic Party has dominated the minority percentage and other cultural exchanges throughout society. The Democrats have established a well known organization that would support the lives of both middle class and lower class citizens. By becoming a democrat, the U.S. would face a new rise in the modern era that would provide a better understanding of what democracy is all about. With this rise, many citizens would live in a time where there is no war and lowered taxes with the support of federal programs.
The Democratic Party has been known to fight for the people, as in the common people of the United States. Unlike the wealthy class Republicans, Democrats have been a way to victory for the common people. According to the Democratic National Convention from there website, http://www.democrats.org/a/party/history.html,
At the start of the 21st Century, the Democratic Party can look back on a proud history a history not just of a political organization but of a national vision. It is a vision based on the strength and power of millions of economically empowered, socially diverse and politically active Americans. Over two hundred years ago, our Party's founders decided that wealth and social status were not an entitlement to rule. They believed that wisdom and compassion could be found within every individual and a stable government must be built upon a broad popular base.(1)
As clearly stated by the Democratic Convention, the history of the democratic party was derived from the establishment of the minorities, not the wealthy class and therfore supports programs for those groups
To support the middle and lower class, the democratic party has established federal funding programs that would help the average citizens of the United States. Such federal programs as Student Loan Reforms and National Service Reforms have created many opportunities for all people with an ambition to work and go to school for less money. The democratic party have thus established a sense of being compassionate and at the same time helpful. The Democratic party have also constructed a social security plan that would benefit anyone that is in need. They have also created medicare and other health programs to support the minority population and raise the level of esteem throughout the party itself.
For the most part, being a democrat is the only way the U.S. can get itself together again. For many decades, the Republicans have had more control than the democratic party. With Bushs new policies and continuation of the building economy, the U.S. is under stressful times. According to a Newsweek poll on November 12,2005 stated on the website http://www.prnewswire.com,
Sixty-eight percent of Americans are dissatisfied with the way things are going in the United States at this time, a seven-point drop in satisfaction since the last Newsweek Poll. Only 26 percent are satisfied. Forty-two percent of those polled say that they disapprove of Bush's appointments to the Supreme Court; 42 percent approve. (1)
As shown by the Newsweek poll, the republican party has been under pressure for many controversies.
When the democrats took and sustained control in 1993-2000, the U.S. was in a state where everything was better. With assistance of President Clinton, the country establsihed an all time low in job unemployment, a rise in job placement, and a rise in continuing education due to the School-to-Work Opportunities Act in 1994. With the goals of the democratic party, the people of the U.S. can clearly see how it is possible to be a democrat and disregard the other mistakes for the government. The republicans did not set up any programs for people to continue going to school or earning a job in there field. This is obvoius because republicans are known to be bussiness experts and are sided for the richer population. No matter what the case, democrats still have the advantage due to there minority majority.
With the domination of the Republican party, the democrats have been the underdogs throughout the modern era. As a support system for the minority races and other lower class sects, the democrats have gained experience for the common people. As it is shown throughout the country, the democrats have proven themselves to fight for the people. With there government based programs and standards for minority citizens, the democrats have proven that to be a democrat requires both compassion and wisdom of the democratic goals.
