We still admire Oprah today

Oprah Winfrey was born on January 29, 1954 in Kusciska, Mississippi. She was an American television talk-show host and actor. She was educated at Tennessee State University. Her television show became the most popular talk shows on television. Oprah Winfrey had a troubled childhood. She experienced neglect and sexual abuse. Oprah Winfrey became the first black news anchor in Nashville, Tennessee. She also was the first black television talk show host. Later in her life, she had her own production called HARPO Production. Oprah Winfrey received an Academy Award nomination for her as Sophia in The Color Purple.
