"Great literature shows the worst in a human being while also revealing the best." Many people agree with this statement. There are many works of literature that prove this. Such works are Their Eyes Are Watching God, by Zora Neale Hurstein, and Macbeth by William Shakesphere.

The novel Their Eyes Are Watching God, by Zora Neale Hurstein one of the best examples to prove this point. The men were burying people killed by the hurricane. That's a good that they buried the innocent people that had been killed. The bad thing was they forced Tea Cake work. The other bad thing was that they only had coffins for white people and not for black. It's great that they buried them but it is a shame how they even had segregation even after this tragic thing.

The well written play Macbeth written by William Shakesphere is another great example to prove this statement. The witches tell Macbeth that he will be king. He was a nobleman and he had only positive things said about him. The worst came out of him when he as told this. He killed all his friends, and became extremely paranoid. Also Macbeth lost his nobility and went crazy. So by the witches telling Macbeth they made him go from good to bad.

There were many parts in the novel Their Eyes Are Watching God and the play Macbeth that help prove this statement from begging to end. So in both things go from good to worst, therefore "great literature shows the worst in human being while also revealing the best."
