School is the place to learn ritht? While I was in Arizona I took computer class for my typing skills and to learn how to use internet. The teacher used to give instructions and we always followed the instructions the way she wanted us to do. Whenever I had any project or research paper to hand in, I used to go to her and use her internet at my lunch time. She has always been nice to me, she helped me with searching the topic and also we used to talk about the topic so that it can help me to write on the paper. On the other hand, I had some friends I knew who was't really good to hangout with, but I still did to cut down my lonelyness. One day I was working with my research paper in the internet and my teacher was having her lunch, one of my frined came to her and ask her for the permition to use the internet. Whenever I am there to use internet he is also there, first I didn't really realize what he was doing, but later on I noticed that he used to go to the porn webpage and those sex chat room. After few days my teacher found out about it and she asked me if I knew this was going on or not. I said yes, I did but never had the guts to tell her anything, because I didn't want him to get into any kind of trouble or put myself in trouble and lose the opportunity to get help from the teacher. Now everyone in the class get to use the internet and can able to go to any link they want, but only my computer has weired just because I didn't tell her anything in the begining.
And now that you know what was the situation, please don't try to tell me that what have the teacher done wasn't appripriate for the student who was innocent. Don't tell me that the student has a right to ruin the school environment. Don't tell me that the teacher should have paid more attention to the student. I mean come on both you and I know that how much important the school computer is for the student. Everyday the students has to collect millions of information for their class work.
It's not necessary that every students characteristic has to be same, all of them are different in their own way. If the one is following the wrong path may be the others are not. But we can't really individually know them and trust them at the same time. So I think the better way of treating them would be having weired on computers. There should be few computer for use without weired and that computer can only be used when a teacher knows the student more closely and trust them, or should have permition slip type of rule if they go into any type of unappropriate rooms there should be a penalty. The reason why we need unweired computer in class room becuase, whenever a student need to use for any research they can use it with the teachers permition.
If not than the kids won't be able to use the internet for research or for any lesson the teacher might want to teach. And that is why Ted Nellen wrote,"I use the Internet to do that since it provides the most recent information.
