The Maccoys
Part 3
THREE HOURS LATER.

Jeff was taking a bath, Melissa and Ben were watching something on the t.v set, and Alice was calling room service again.

Three sets of scrambled eggs, four eggs each. Five pieces of toast, three sausages. One set of raspberry pancakes, the large stack, with a bowl of cereal. And a big jug of orange juice. She then listened as they said the order back to her.

Yes, thats right. Corn flakes. Yes. Thank you. She said, then hung up the phone. She turned and went into the bed room for a towel. Everyone else had already taken their shower. So she was going to be the last. As she picked it up Jeff walked in and walked over to her.

Did you sleep well? He asked after he kissed her on the forehead. Her hand came up and held his waist.

Yes, and you? She then asked.

Not bad, but I got a kink in my neck. Her hand left his side to massage his neck.

Oh it O.K. now. But thanks anyway love. He bent and kissed her on the lips. She then walked from his side to the bath room to take her shower. As the water ran over her head and down her body, it reached out for her husband. She wanted to be in his arms. She enjoyed her times with Ben. He was an . . . exceptional man. But at the end of it all she wanted to hear Jeff telling her that he loved her. As she stepped into the bed room she felt a little dj vu. She had entered their bed room drying off her neck and back. She then looked up and saw him sitting on the bed. He was leaning against the head board reading a magazine and dressed in a white long sleeved shirt. She walked over to him.

Why are you wearing that shirt? She asked him as she made her way to his side of the bed.

Because I forgot to tell you something yesterday. He said, as he laid the magazine down on the table and looked up at her.

What was so important that you try to turn back time, just to tell me. She asked as he stood up infront of her. His hand reached for her and she complied with it as it brought her up against him. He bent his head down and she reached hers up to meet him. It was a simple but strong kiss.

I love you Alice. I always will. He told her before he kissed her again. They were soon lying on the bed. They heard a knock on the front door. She started to remove his shirt. They heard the door as it was opened and then closed. She threw his shirt aside. They might have heard the faint scrapping of knives and forks against plates. She pulled her face away from his.

I love you too Jeff. So dont hate me for what I am about to do. She kissed him on the forehead, crawled off the bed and into a long T-shirt and some shorts. Then made her way to the door.

Where are you going? He asked from his place on the bed.

To get something to eat. Im hungry. She said before she disappeared out the door. He was soon on her heals. When he got out there she was seated in on of the chairs with a big glass of orange juice and she had just started to eat what was on her plate. He grabbed his and went to sit next to her. He sipped his juice and bit into his toast before he talked to her.
No, I dont hate you. He told her.

But you did leave me rising. He said as he raised his toast with eggs to his lips. She looked over at him and smiled. They ate the rest of their meal in silence, but also in love.
