From Pizza Hut, Domino's Pizza, and Caesar's Pizza, there are a lot of these shops selling those wonderful round disks of beauty called Pizza. Pizza was invented in Naples, Italy. It was invented since Italian's favorite food is bread and their queen wanted to taste a new kind of food. The chefs keep thinking and suddenly thought that thay would put tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella cheese on a flat dough and bake it in a wood burning oven. They served it to their queen and she liked it. Thus, Pizza was born. The word pizza, as it is currently spelled, also emerged some time in the Middle Ages. It was used to describe both sweet and salty pies that were becoming increasingly popular among Italian aristocracy.
Pizza those times were simple yet tasty. But in our generation, a lot of new varieties has come up. Pizza that was loaded with tons of cheese and meat products is the icon of all pizza-makers. But despite all the calories and saturated fats, people, like me, extremely like this food. When the warm cheese and the scalding sauce touches your lips, you cannot resist to just take a huge bite out of it but you would like to eat the whole slice. In the first bite you would feel heaven in its best form. This is why the Pizza is my all-time favorite food.

6 fresh basil leaves cut into strips (or 1 t dried basil)

Preparation:
Cut tomatoes into chunks and marinate in 1 tablespoon olive oil with garlic and salt. Brush dough crust lightly with olive oil. Top with cheese, then tomatoes. Drizzle with olive oil. Bake in preheated 500 degree (F) oven on pizza stone for 8-10 minutes or until crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly. Remove from oven and top with parmesan cheese and basil. Cool on a wire rack for 2-3 minutes before cutting into wedges and serving.
