This page is my contribution to the triumph community. Sorry to make it only about GT6's, but GT6's and Spits are about the extent of my actual working knowledge of Triumphs. And there are enough Spit pages out there already. Anyhow, for those of you who don't have a GT6, you have no idea what you're missing, both in joy and frustration........

Just as some background....I am technically the second owner of a 1970 GT6 Plus. It was originally bought in Annapolis, MD by my father in 1970. As an engineering student at the Naval Academy and MIT, he thought that he could make the car "better." To that extent, he ripped out the original dash and built his own, complete with jury-rigged wiring and non-functional switches. He also removed the "noisy" rear quarter vents and replaced them with tiny stained-glass windows. And that was just in the firstfew years.....

Anyhow, as we were a military family, and constantly moving around, the 6 spent much time sitting in fields and backyards while we were overseas. Needless to say, over the years weather and other pests have taken their toll on the car. In 1996 my father pretty much gave the car to me.  I dumped most of my meager summer-job salary on all kinds of new parts that year, and then did very little to it while in college. In 1997 it was hit from behind at a stoplight by a reckless 16-year-old and the back was nicely mutilated.

Since then, the body work has been reparied by me (fiberglass) and right now it is waiting for me to put in a new wiring harness. I also have a line on some new sheet metal, so we'll see what happens with that.  The sheet metal is from a Mk3, so maybe I'll build a hybrid....Seems like desecration of a classic, but it may be my only option.

Here's my GT6. Sorry, my scanner is pretty pathetic, so the pic didn't come out as well as I'd hoped. Anyhow, this is from last summer. Still need to get (or build) a new dashboard. Note the stained-galss window where the quarter vents in the rear used to be... Stylin', eh? As you can see, I'm experimenting with different paint colors......
