Puppies, Puppies, Puppies!

On February 10, 2001, Our Puppies were born to two fabulous breeders in Bellingham Washington. Born of Sire Rush Hill's Watz Cook'n Good Look'n and Dam Ch. Chuckanut's Salt and Soda, our puppies along with five siblings were born at the Chuckanut Golden Retrievers. Gary flew down to see them when they were but four weeks old, but unfortunately didn't have his camera with him. We decided at first to get one puppy, a male. The more we thought about it, the more we decided we really wanted two. The assumption that the two would play with each other and not terrorize the older two dogs. So far, on day five, this is holding true.

The Breeder with both in Bellingham

Gary and I flew down to Seattle on April 5th, 2001 and then drove up to Bellingham. We started the trip by staying at the Chuckanut Manor, and had a great night. Nice hot-tub on the deck overlooking the San Juan Islands, and just a wonderful little cottage.

Jim nearly asleep in the hot tub

After sleeping to the sound of the trains below our room, which I found relaxing, Gary found annoying, we got up and drove down the road to finalize the deal with the puppies.
