  • Developed a Coldfusion MX / MS SQL Server database web interface for three major grocers from the east coast for online shopping in two months. This included designing a front/back end for data transfer such as updates and orders between our facility and the customers, database driven reporting, populating the database with customer master load and utilizing our own master database of 500K UPC records.

Software Engineering

Functioned generally in the software developer role contributing to all phases of development life cycle.

·         Developed Java applets and servlets for a real-time secure internet issuance / production system of healthcare cards that manipulated data and utilized an Oracle 8i database. Project enabled healthcare QR officers to view cards front and back from the web prior to production.

·         Developed code for encryption of public / private keys and certificate generation for a retail customer. An Oracle 8i database and Websphere web server were used with Java, JavaScript, JDBC, SQL, HTML and NCipher HSM. Enabled production on any smart card machine anywhere in the world from the internet with little change to the production system.

·         Developed and administered two replicated MySQL 3.23 databases. The databases contained records of smart card users, secure user authentication access, and promotions for card production with other facility throughout the US for a rock star’s website.

·         Obfuscated and then packaged software with InstallAnyWhere. Product was distributed internally to Gemplus as a tool for smart card production and also distributed to customers for development purposes on CD.

 

Network Administration

Administered all network functionality for the Gemplus Bloomington facility and portions of customer networks.

·         Responsible for security, building and maintaining severs, workstations, firewall (with DMZs), and production equipment (HSMs, Routers, Switches, HUBs, CSU/DSUs, WANs, LAN, ISDNs, and printers), purchasing hardware and software, as well as, PBX phone system, ISDN video conferencing, and faxes.

·         Developed and maintained a Visa certified 24/7 backup and disaster recovery scheme for a production network using scheduled backups of data (Oracle 8i database), production and development code, and systems with Veritas Backup Exec 8.5, Windows 2000 backup, MS Visual Source Safe, LTO autoloader / DLT / DDS4 tape devices, and an Invensys Powerware 9170 UPS connected to all critical production hardware. The process included off-site secure storage facility.

·         Administered a Java Web Server and maintained production code, users and QR officers over a WAN for a major US healthcare provider. Served as point of contact for customer.

·         Administered one end of a point-to-point smart card production network for a major US retail customer with production sites in Arizona and South Dakota through a DMZ.

·         Administered Windows 2000 authentication servers with NCipher HSMs and two MySQL 3.23 replicated databases. These machines accessed the internet through a DMZ for smart card production with other facilities throughout the US for a rock star’s web site.

 

Management

Managed facility contractors and Y2K project.

·         Hired electrical, network cabling, and network support contractors.

·         Managed Y2K project for Gemplus Bloomington and DC9000 facility in PA. This entailed training in Paris France, site evaluations, hardware compliance, software compliance, and monitoring a contractor to aid in scanning code. Project resulted in no Y2K problems.
