RAINY LAKE

Bear season has been 'pretty good' by most accounts.

BEMIDJI AREA

Bear hunters did well opening weekend.

BLACKDUCK AREA

There were more bears shot on opening day than all of last year.

CASS LAKE AREA

Bear hunters are struggling.

DULUTH AREA

About 20 bears have been registered - most of which were taken the first day.

GRAND MARAIS AREA

Bear registrations are down from last year with about 30 animals taken as of Tuesday morning.

GRAND RAPIDS AREA

Bear and goose hunters are seeing less action than last year and success is limited.

HACKENSACK AREA

Only two bears have been registered with most baits being hit after dark.

LAKE KABETOGAMA

Bear season has been going well and several big animals have been harvested.

LAKE VERMILION

Bear season is going 'very well', highlighted by a 500-pound animal.

RED LAKE

Bear season opened with plenty of action.
