| Cures of the Curse There are two known cures to the curse, beyond using spells such as Remove Curse or Wish which are highly expensive. Both of them are based on a type of plant known as ballamira which is found in jungles that border Raethos. Ballamira is a strong drug that is crushed into powder and inhaled through the nose. It is also possible to mix the powder in water and drink it, but the horrible taste often makes people prefer to sniff it. When it is first inhaled (or drank) the person feels empowering euphoria for a minute, and then must succeed at a DC 18 fortitude save or take one point of wisdom damage. It is not addictive, but if it is taken twice within a day the person must make a DC 18 fortitude save or take one point of permanent wisdom damage. By using ballamira, the effects of the Curse of Malice are negated for a day. A single dose of ballamira is 5 sp. Ballamira Ring: A ring of hardened ballamira mixed with some other herbs and worn on the finger makes all effects of the Curse of Malice become negated. This effect functions as long as the ring is being worn. The ring costs 10 gp and requires an alchemical check DC 18 to create. |
