Pantheon of Earth
Leader

No single force is the acknowledged "leader" of this Pantheon, though several planar sages have suggested that the very Elemental Plane of Earth is sentient and directs the actions of its vessels, the gods of Earth. Many priests of the various earthen gods either dismiss such contemplations as pointless drivel or damn it as heresy, depending on their alignment. In any case, mere mortals are not privy to the inner workings of the pantheon.

Members

Aedirok
NE Goddess of the Aedin and Earthquakes.  Her symbol is that of two black gems, and her favored weapon is a battleaxe.  Many clerics of Aedirok pray at midnight, though far more have picked a time that is significant to them. The sun shines not upon the dank dwellings of many priests of Aedirok's no matter what time it is on the surface, making any symbolism behind day and night meaningless to the evil clerics.

Zilok
TN God of Mines & Ore.  His favored weapon is the heavy pick, and his symbol is simply a miner's pick. "Reap the bounties of the earth so that you may gain wealth and further the honor of your family's name,"  is often the lesson taught by clerics of Zilok, though the more selfish members of the priesthood often leave out a later cause. Although Zilok gladly shares the earth's blood and body with those with the mind to dig, he frowns upon unnecessary and overly extensive collection.

A common prayer by both Zilok's clergy and the average miner is as follows:

Oh lord of the pick
Let not the rocks slide
Let us not loose the trail
Let the veins run freely
Oh lord of the pick

Once every seventeen days, a minor celebration is held at every able church of Zilok. The festivities are somewhat subdued, with demonstrations of proper technique to up and coming miners, along with comedic tales of ill-fated miners being the usual fare. A sooty ale favored by the grim earthworkers is given freely to all in attendance, packing enough punch to floor the uninitiated.

Ages ago, a elemental lord with no name or title except "The Great Destruction" boiled forth from its home plane and tore through a large settlement of miners on the prime material. Headed by a rather despicable entrepreneurial gnome, the mining company had recently depleted a large number of gem veins in a "free contract," with the majority of the profits finding their way up the ladder to the top. Many view this as an act of Zilok, or even a higher power. Perhaps those careful folk are right...or perhaps it twas merely a freak occurrence.
