| Gyranos | ||
| The dwarven realm of Gyranos is situated primarily underground and in the deserts to the south where there is almost no vegetation. Shrubs are extremely uncommon, and trees are nearly extinct. The most common material around Gyranos is gold methanide, a mineral much like gold with trace amounts of methanal within. Gold methanide appears much like gold, however it has white spots or streaks covering it, allowing people to decipher between pure gold and gold methanide. Gold methanide, commonly known as sunfire gold, is used to make fire. By adding hydrosodyic acid, commonly known as Liquid Sodium, to ground sunfire gold, a very hot green fire emerges. Because firewood is non-existent, this is the typical way of creating fire. Gold methanide is so common around Gyranos, that where on Earth you would find a rock; in Gyranos you would find a rock of sunfire gold. Sunfire gold is typically one copper coin (cp) per ingot, and liquid sodium is typically two copper coins (cp) per pound. Obviously, vegetables, grains, and fruits are extremely rare; however some plants are able to survive on the harsh, rocky terrain of Gyranos. Gyranos has an incredibly wide variety of funguses, which are the primary source of vegetation within Gyranos. Some plants, such as the gyran goldfruit, can grow in the rocky soil. These plant varieties are extremely rare, however. Fungus's are the primary crop in Gyranos, and fairly common. Fish is the most common meat. Several materials exist that replace the necessities that are normally covered by wood. Arrows, for example, are created by a material known as spotted silver, which is a light metal found in small rocks that is easily manipulated. Bow's are created using false wood, a black metal that when soaked in water becomes flexible as wood. Spire gold, which as its name implies grows in large cylindrical spires, is typically stripped off the spire and used in poles and handles. |
