| Argorsh |
| Population: Approximately 10,000 halflings, 213 dwarves Normal Encounter Level: 5-12 A wild untamed land, it's entire length populated by a stone aged culture of cannibal halflings. There are several hundred tribes, each ruled by the eldest female. The tribes are loosely organized, with males holding lower rank than females. The matriarch has a council made up of the eldest warriors, who assist her in her with battle plans. In battle male and female both fight equally, however, no male rises to high ranks within the warriors. Possibly the most distinct feature is their cannibalism. This is not particularly cruel or disgusting to them, rather it is a necessity brought about by the high level of aggressive predators. They also practice ritualized cannibalism, the most noted is the eating of an honored enemy's heart and eyes after their death, and the more solemn feast after the death of a matriarch. The halflings worship a deity known as Yvrette, however, each tribe has a different totem animal. Common creatures on Argorsh include dinosaurs, all types of large predators, and plant type creatures Clan Hellforge Clan Hellforge is possibly the greatest secret in Aldreia. High in the mountains of Argorsh, the halflings whisper is a tribe of tall hairy thick skinned ghosts who dig in the ground, hunting strange things. They never come down from the mountains, and are never seen above the ground. The dwarves of Hellforge mine a strange and rare form of Elementium, Wild Elementium, which they call Shere's Curse, their legends say that Shere sought to overthrow Nir. This strange ore is part of her prison, and vow to let no amount of it leave the island, though they mine and use it. Clan Hellforge is rich by any standards of wealth, with vast treasury filled with gems and rare, precious metals, but they keep no magic items, the proximity to Shere's Curse warps any item fashioned into something different and usually takes its creator with it. |
