Brotherhood's Fire
The city itself is an ancient old abandoned city found by the Brotherhood some 300 years ago (969?). It had been a popular stop by merchants then pirates due to its lagoon and deepwater port. Very few sailors ventured into at that time the monster filled city. The good king Hedric I sponsored the colonization of Brotherhoods Fire. It was a great time for adventurers from all over the world.

The Hedric line of kings have had a continuous run of this small kingdom and this continues with King Hedric IV to this day. King Hedric IV and the royal family cares little about the people though the people think of the king as a war hero. Only money and having a good time is what the aristocracy cares for.

Brotherhoods Fire (population around 7500) lies far southwest and many weeks from the land of  Aelthiur. To the far north lies the Plutocracy of BLAH . The lands of BLAH lies to the north northwest.

The people of Brotherhoods Fire are a tough lot after surviving the great war of 1267. The life on the Gulf coast is hard. Hot summers and cold winters. Foul monsters roam the wilderness. There has been seen some Aelthiurian rangers in small war bands found to the north and west.  To the northwest the great peaks of the Heavens Teeth are seen.

History of the War
It was 02/21/1267 when the Highland Clans were attacked by a huge organized force of humanoids, giants, and undead. In only two weeks the Highland Clans were devastated. The city of Brotherhoods Fire sent a large force of soldiers to defend the Pass. The Battle of the Pass was on the day of 03/17/1267. Some 30% of Brotherhoods Fires army was wiped out  and routed in a horrible two week battle. On the day of 03/17/1267 was know as the day of fear. A combined force of 30,000 monster kind, an Army of Fear, surrounded the city of Brotherhoods Fire and began siege. On 04/12/1267 the neglected walls of the slums were breached. At least 50% of the people of the city died in the fighting which lasted months. The Army of Fear did not expect the people to fight back like they did. When all hope seemed lost the good king Hedric IV came forth with the Army of Freedom. The Army of Freedom was a collection of his best knights and many adventurer who had joined the hopeless fight. The fight lasted for weeks and great swords of ancient and old forging were swung! Ancient magic words were spoken releasing powerful spells! The gods of the people listened and their priest healed and fought! It was a great time of heroic battle. The people followed at last wiping out and routing the army of fear. Many a hero died that day of 07/07/1267. The war had a stirred a great form of patriotism within this city of Brotherhoods Fire. This was their city. They fought and many died for it and their deaths would not be in vain! Regardless of their differences the people will drop all arguments and join together to fight a common foe.

The Gateway- 1000 people. This is the only official way into the city if you dont count the breach in the slum walls. King Hedric IV allows only the coin of his realm at a 10%  exchange rate going both ways. The moneychangers charge this 10% rate and even more to the unwary. The Gateway leads to Hedric Bay. Weapons License are sold here. The slave market operates secretly here in a great manor.

Hedric Bay- A set of docks that has a bottomless bay. The bay is the center point of the entire city.

North Docks- 1500 people. A lavish rich area full of  huge homes, inns, and shops. Here is where King Hedric IV and the royal family lives in his huge castle. The noble families of the VanRausen, Spindaigle, and the incipient Chiefs of the Highland Clans. There is also a very well funded Church of Herrtuune as well as a High School of the Arcane. The higher class Stevedores reside here. (The lower class Stevedores reside in the south docks.) The gigantic ancient Great Library of the mysterious Watchers sits here. The North Docks is where the ships of the nobility and rich adventurers dock.

South Docks- 1000 people. This is the commoner section where common goods are sold. The Church of Celena of the 2nd moon is there to comfort the people. The powerful Stevedores Guild has their main Guild house here. The South  Docks is where the majority of where most sea trade is done in the city. It is rumored there is a Thieves Guild here called the Blackship Clan but this is impossible with the city guard. There is also the Low School of the Arcane.

New City- 2000 people. This is the city section funded by Lord Coldwell and built by the Church of Artas. The  New City is built of stone and steel. The new buildings are the largest in the city and they tower above all else. In the middle of all this is the Brewers Guild. They are a powerful bunch and are at odds with the temperance attitude of the Church of Artas.

Cursed Section- The cursed section is a horrible haunted place. It is full of undead and monsters. The Cursed Sections only gate opens into the south section of New City. The Church of Artas hold the monsters and undead at bay. It is rumored that there are a foul group of Necromancers residing behind the crumbling walls. No one knows for sure.

The Slums- 2000 people. The main feature of the slums is the collapsed east wall. The collapse occurred during the war two years ago and because the people are poor no one cares to fix it. If there is another attack on the city the gates entering the slums will be closed trapped in the slums. The slums are split into three factions. The Scavengers are the slums watch and vigilante group, the Roma-Juin are a mixed race hated and forced to move by various countries , and the Bonstas a ruthless gang who are dangerous to be crossed.

The Fields- 500-1000 people. This is a field outside the city where the homeless and woodsmen live. There are many shacks and even more tents. This place is slow to wake and quick to party late into the night. There are many brothel tents and shacks here as well as traveling tavern carts. The Brotherhood is based here. From the fields the Brotherhood patrol the countryside and the trade routes.

The Beach- A place during warm weather is a place of merry meet.

The Highland Clans- A beautiful high steppe where hot springs flow dotted with highland forest. Here is the lands of the Highland Clan Lords who stay in the city leaving the clans to fight amongst themselves. In the forest the mysterious druids worship nature ousted by the Church of Artas in a sometimes violent disagreement.
