Magda (aka "Honey Bunny") has kept busy with her cookery classes at Le Cordon Bleu and John (aka "Hobbes") has spent most of the year working on an internet banking project for Lloyd's Bank in London.
Of course it goes without saying, the highlight of our year was our wedding!
Other highlights of the year included visits from John's sister and Magda's mom. Once the "summer traveling season" finally ended, we finally had a chance to settle down and become "real" Londoners. As a daily routine, Magda usually comes home a little earlier than work-aholic John, but John always finds time for his daily count of Magda's fingers (to make sure that there are still ten). The weekday evenings are kept busy with dancing classes, running in Hyde Park with the Serpentine Running Club, or small community activities with Holy Brompton Church. We didn't see all seven continents, but we did manage to visit Austrailia, England, Italy, Spain, Holland, Ireland, Sweden, France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Wales, Scotland and the United States (briefly).
For the new year, Magda is hoping to complete her year of training at Le Cordon Bleu and John is hoping to return to San Francisco in time for the "All-Star Break". Destinations still on our itinerary include skiing in the Alps and a return trip to Italy to see the Tuscany area. Return trips to Holland, France and Ireland are also likely. John is also hoping to run in the Paris Marathon on April 8, with a goal of 3 hours and 15 minutes so that he can qualify for the Boston Marathon in 2002. The most exciting thing ahead for us is returning home to the Bay Area to see our family and friends, look for our first home, and "do a little home cooking", if you know what I mean.
