In a thrilling yet fun match, the senior Moses Generation Soccer Team showed that experience was still more useful and effective than youthful vigor.

The match was played at Da Qiao Primary School. Thanks to Auntie Lois, who is a teacher in this school, we were able to make use of the premises.

We started promptly after a short speech and prayer by our chairman Uncle Dan Wong.

JG United kicked off the match and almost immediately went on to take the lead with a stunning assist by our striker Kai which had Vincent on the end of his pass to slot in the goal.
1-0

However, moments later, due to some defensive lapses, the Moses Generation were allowed to put a goal pass our Keeper, Mr. Casanova.
1-1

Without showing any signs off giving up, JG United continued to put presure on the opponent's defence and soon we were rewarded when our other striker, Isaac slipped pass their last man to drive home our second goal.
2-1

Due to a haul of substitutions, which caused JG United's defence into a tail spin, Moses Generation were allowed to equalise before half time with a pin point free kick by Peter Lim into the top left corner, giving no chance of a save by JG United's "spiderman".
2-2

Halftime proved to be an exciting time as well with the constant cheering and the carnival atmosphere.

The match resumed by having the teams switch sides. As soon as the match started, the excitment and loud cheers went into overdrive. Kai again turned provider, this time with Bobby scoring.
3-2

Again the Moses Generation fought back strong and hard forcing simple errors in JG United's defence and conceded 2 goals in a short span of time handing MG the lead.
3-5

Kai took a shot on goal which deflected out for a corner. Isaac placed the ball in the heart of their goal from the corner kick  and David made no mistake by tapping the ball in goal in mid air. David's celebrations were most memorable as it seems to be his 1st goal for the team. JG United were making a come back.
4-5

Just as the Moses Generation were trying to get into their rythm and pace. JG United struck again with an unusual goal by defender Kevin. He headed a high and strong ball at Moses Generation keeper, Donald. who let slip the ball into the back of the goal. JG United drew level
5-5

Moses Generation started piling up the pressure on the young and inexperienced defenders. Their efforts paid off through Jeffery Phua who blasted the ball past the keeper.
5-6

But, JG United were not out of the game yet. After whizzing past the defence, Bobby then added another goal to his name with a long range effort with saw their keeper dive in vain. JG United were back.
6-6

With that new found confidence, JG United pushed foward. With an excellent build from defence to midfield, We broke through their defence and managed a cross from the left wing for Bobby to complete his hat-trick.
7-6

As the sun blazed on the field, with a lack of concentration JG United again conceded another goal with an own goal by Joel Yong and allowed Moses Generation back into the game.
7-7

Noticing JG United's weak left and right wing, the Moses Generation exploited that area constantly and that allowed them to score the odd goal, through Peter Lim, which won them the game.

Final Score : JG United 7
                                Moses Generation 8

Though the match was lost, I'm sure that we all did enjoy ourselves and, most importantly, create a stronger bond between youth and adults in our church.
