| The Banquet Band 2000 Josh Summers: Guitar and Vocals Brandon Hunt: Guitar and Vocals Michael Summers: Bass Guitar Darren Gonzales: Drums 12-Bar Blues in A Pretty Woman Brown Eyed Girl Mother We practiced twice in Mr. Gonzales' basement. Mike learned how to play bass guitar in a week (and look where he is now). We played a set list tailored to an older generation, but with a youthful edge. Great fun, as Walker would say. The best part was after 'Mother:' the student council gave a benediction right after Brandon finished singing "...I'm not about to see your light, and if you wanna find hell with me, I can show you what it's like, until you're bleeding..." Theres a couple pics of this little event on a temporary page, click here to see them. Thanx goes out to Lisa for scanning these. |

| The Banquet Band 2001 Josh Summers: Guitar and Vocals Brandon Hunt: Guitar and Vocals Michael Summers: Bass Guitar and Background Vocals Casey Sojka: Drums and Background Vocals Jason Capps: Sound Check, Video, and Background Vocals Baker Street Love Song Wild World Bleeding Me We practiced for two days in Casey's basement; Mike learned how to play Baker Street and Wild World in less. We played a set list of older songs redone with a heavier edge. "Baker Street" was done in the Foo Fighter fashion, "Love Song" was done all on guitars (including two solos), and Wild World was set to a steady drum beat. Metallica's "Bleeding Me" was the highlight of the show. It started out slowly and, by the time the monster heavy riff came around, it was too late to throw us off the stage. The climax was the whole band yelling 'Hey! Hey!' at the breakdown riff. Unfortunately, the audio wasn't captured, but it was tons of fun and we're still left with the video Jason took. Century Performance Josh - guitar, vocals Derek - bass guitar Matt - guitar, vocals Gertch - drums Ball and Chain, Don't Drag Me Down, Dammit (Growing Up) This was for Century High School's Senior Assembly, we we're the band with the P.A., so everyone was in debt to us. It was fun, we practiced a few times, which was also fun. A very receptive audience, one that especially loved guitar solos (which is always good for me). After Gertch left we started jamming with Steve as a band that eventually became Something Stirring after Jake replaced Matt on guitar. Jake and I are still continuing the band today with the help Doug (drums) and Chris (bass). Future Perfomances??? Not likely. There was the Gazebo show, however... |
