BIOGRAPHY
Born in Worcester, Mass. and
raised in Auburn, Jeffrey Thomas Norwood (Jeff) has gone through numerous
trials and tribulations before turning his mindset ... and his heart ... to comedy. Of
course, when he mentions that as his main profession to most people, they either laugh or
have him escorted off of their companys property.
After the happy-go-lucky years, Jeff experienced a socially difficult eighth grade. A few words unbeknown to him opened his eyes to whom his real friends were, and who had changed so much in so little time. However, high school was very prosperous for Jeff, as he discovered a highly-acclaimed talent for news-style writing. In addition to succeeding as Editor-in-Chief of his high schools newspaper, and also ran and lost in the schools only tie for a class office race. The following year, he produced a highly unsuccessful campaign for office, but one that would be remembered as both entertaining and rude, but funny.
College was more of a rollercoaster. While becoming an editor four weeks into his collegiate career, as well as involved in numerous activities, his focus has become blurred as journalism wasnt offered at the college, nor was it supported by a majority of his peers. Prior to switching to a part-time college schedule, Jeff met comedian Tiny Glover. The timing could not have been better as Jeff was already preparing jokes for a much-talked-about-but-never-taken-seriously comedy debut.
In May of 2001, Jeff debuted at The Comedy Vault in Boston. In June, Jeff performed his first show outside of a comedy club at Auburn Middle School. Since then, Jeff has performed continously at The Comedy Vault, The Station, and Jesters' Comedy. Colleges he has performed at include the University of Connecticut, University of Massachusetts, Nichols College, Brandeis University, Smith College and Wentworth Institute of Technology. In addition, he has performed for a dance at the Auburn Middle School in Auburn and the 4th of July Celebration in Auburn. He was a co-headliner at a benefit with proceeds going to victims related to September 11th. The benefit took place in Westerly, RI in September of 2003.
Jeff uses his love for journalism to scan news stories and write jokes based on them. In addition to these type of jokes, his personal stories from growing up and an occasional observance make for an entertaining show. All of Jeff's material is written by him.
He is one of five children and holds a B.S.B.A. degree from Nichols College.
