Ported Stock L98 Exhaust Manifolds
Background
The exhuast system already had a hi-flow front Y, a hi-flow cat and a TPIS custom cat-back.
In the stock exhaust manifolds the AIR tubes and the EGR tube protrude into the manifold tubes and the welds between the tubes and the mounting flange reduce the opening.  The purpose here was to reduce these restrictions of the stock exhaust manifolds.
Procedure
The left and right side exhaust manifolds were removed from the motor and the shields removed from the maniflods.
A Dremel with a tile cutter bit was used
.to remove the SS AIR tube and SS EGR tube protrusions as well as to rough out the pipe openings at the mounting flange.
A cutter bit on the Dremel was used to dress up the above work; a #60 sanding drum finished up the fine shaping and smoothing.
Finally the manifolds were cleaned with carb cleaner and Scotch Brite and painted with 1,500deg exhaust manifold Silver aerosol paint.
The heat shields were buffed with Scotch Brite to remove tarnish and corrosin.
The shields were replaced around the maniflods and the maniflods were installed onto the motor using new GM gaskets (4 P/N 10088110 and 2 P/N 10088112).
Antisieze was used on the manifold flange bolts before installation.
Finished Product
The finished left side exhaut manifold is shown in the three photos below.  Note the silver paint on the manifold, the polished heat shield, the opened ports and the removed AIR tube extensions.
