LCD DVD/TV Install

Power Acoustik 5.6" 4:3 aspect ration LCD montior showing Austin Power DVD.  As you can see, the monitor is 6.25" wide and fits perfectly snug in the storage bin.  I'm not using any brackets to hold it in place because the fit is that tight.  For DVD/TV tuner duties, I'm using a Starvision DVD 3003T DVD player w/ built-in TV Tuner.

LCD monitor showing local Fox TV channel (Red Sox vs. Yankees...go Sox!).  Reception isn't so great in the driveway, I'm using a Optiview dipole 25 dB power amplified TV antenna located on the rear deck lid.

Stock pic of Starvision DVD 3003T.  Slot loading DVD player w/ anti-shock and built-in TV tuner.  It can be mounted at any angle, but I have it flat under the passenger seat.

Stock pic of Optiview AVW1A power amplified TV antenna.

Here's a pic of my power wire splicing.  I know not the cleanest, but the connections are all solid which is what counts.

Other notes about this install: I had get a 20 electronic noise filter for the power leads because I was getting some nasty alternator whine.  The power noise filter solved most of the problem, but there was still some humming in the audio signal, so I put a ground-loop isolator inline with it.  The two together almost completely eliminated all audio noise which is good:)  Also, I now have my iPod on the aux. A/V input on the DVD player, and the DVD player is hooked up to the car's headunit via my Soundgate auxilary input adapter which I have mounted behind the LCD monitor.

Old iPod Install

15 GB iPod, wired to factory headunit using Soundgate SNHOND03 aux. audio input adapter.  Cable is a 3' long mini-jack to stereo RCA cable available at Radio Shack.

Here you can see the Soundgate adapter installed in the storage bin.  To install, I cut a hole in the back/top of the bin and used double-sided tape to secure the adapter to the roof of the bin.  At the top of the pic you can actually see the adapter's cable plugged into the bottom of the headunit.

Reverse angle of iPod.  BTW, I got the little stand at Pep Boys.  It's a Eurogrip cellphone holder that fits into the cupholder, also works perfect for an iPod as you can see:)
