Notes for Arthur Cunningham: Source: Mom's notes 1820 Census Arthur Cunningham & Suckey (Henry 14, Lany 7)
The 1830 Lenoir County Census(p. 285?) indicates that among family members listed there was also one male slave age 36 to 55. Family members shows one male 50-60, one male 20-30, one male age 5 to 10, one female 15-20 and one female 50-60.
Census records suggest that Arthur had a least four children and possibly more, but only two can be positively identified.
In 1844, he gave nearly 700 acres to his son Henry and daughter Eleanor. The deeds of gift transferring property to Arthur's children where destroyed in the courthouse fire of 1879. But descendants re-recorded those 2 deeds of gift to protect title to their farms. (Also, From Patricia Howard Armor [email protected]; also Lenoir County Heritage Book)
Arthur married Sukey Grey.
