This section is dedicated to my all time favourite band - NOFX.

NOFX started back in 1983 in Berkley, CA with Fat Mike (Mike Burkett), Eric Melvin (Guitar), Erik Sandin (Drums). Mike played in a band Called "False Alarm" (who are still going I might add) before he joined NOFX. Eric and Mike talked about what name would be right for the band Melvin said "NOFX" after a band who had put out one record and broken up called Negative FX, so they kinda ripped off the name! (Mike hates the name though to this day) In 1985 Scott joined the band on drums and together they recorded some 7" singles on MYSTIC Records.

After that Scott quit the band and Eric joined again in 1986. Before Eric and after Scott there was another drummer but he was only in the band for 2 weeks! Dave Casillas also joined on guitar that year and Dave Allen on vocals - who lasted 2 weeks in the band (he died in a car accident). Dave Casillas recorded one album with NOFX "Liberal Animation" before being asked to leave. They soon draughted in Steve Kidweilder on guitar and recorded their first album for Epitaph "S&M Airlines". in '91 the band recorded the album that spawned a whole gnre - "Ribbed". This was the album where NOFX finally achieved their trademark sound and included the classics "Moron Brothers" and "Green Corn".

After that in 1992 Fat Mike starts his own record label - FAT WRECK CHORDS. The first FAT release was a re-edited album of songs they prevously record on MYSTIC. This was a 7" record called "The P.M.R.C can suck on this"

On that same year the illustrious "EL HEFE" (Aaron Abeyta) took the place on guitar left by Steve. They recorded their first album with El Hefe called "The Longest Line" this was a 5 song EP with their classic hit "Kill All the White Man". In this one El Hefe showcased his talent on vocals and trumpet (He used to play in a jazz band before he joined the band.

On that same year but on EPITAPH they recorded "White trash, Two Heebs and a Bean". With great songs on it like: Bob and Stickin in my eye".

In 1994 they recorded their biggest seller - "Punk in Drublic" with awesome songs like: Linoleum and The Brews (it just hit the Gold sales mark to!

In 1995 they recorded "Heavy Petting Zoo", which was probably thier most diverse (and one of the best - in my opinion) albums, with a crazy cover of a guy makin it to a lamb.

1997 they recorded "So long and thanx for all the shoes" This sparked rumours of thier spilt but it turns out the album name was taken from the Douglas Adams novel "So Long and Thanx for all the Fish".

The latest release is 2000's "Pump Up The Valium" which made its debut on the American Billboard charts ay #61

Ive seen NOFX play live 3 times - in '96 at the Astoria in London (I have a video tape of that gig). Once in '98 at Rock City in Nottingham (which was probably one of the most memorable days of my life since I got to hang out with the band) - see the pics, and this year at The Deconstruction Festival in London.
Everytime ive seen them they get better and they always put on a fantastic show, if ever you get chance to go and see them play live - DO IT!!!
