What is the New Age Movement?
The New Age movement has many sub-divisions, but it is generally a collection of Eastern-influenced metaphysical thought systems, a conglomeration of theologies, hopes, and expectations held together with an eclectic teaching of salvation, of "correct thinking," and "correct knowledge." It is a theology of "feel-goodism," "universal tolerance," and "moral relativism."
In the NAM. Man is central. He is viewed as divine, as co-creator, as the hope for future peace and harmony. A representative quote might be: "I am affected only by my thoughts. It needs but this to let salvation come to all the world. For in this single thought is everyone released at last from fear." (A course in Miracles, The Foundation for Inner Peace, Huntington Station, N.Y. Lesson 228, p. 461.)
Unfortunately for the NAM. the fear they want to be released from might very well be the fear of damnation, of conviction of sin, and it is even, sometimes, fear of Christianity and Christians. Though the NAM. is tolerant of almost any theological position, it is opposed to the "narrow-mindedness" of Christianity that teaches Jesus is the only way and that there are moral absolutes.
The NAM. is difficult to define because "there is no hierarchy, dogma, doctrine, collection plate, or membership." It is a collection, an assortment of different theologies with the common threads of toleration and divergence weaving through its tapestry of "universal truth."
C. - The term "New Age" refers to the "Aquarian Age" which, according to New Age followers, is dawning. It is supposed to bring in peace and enlightenment and reunite man with God. Man is presently considered separated from God not because of sin (Isaiah 59:2), but because of lack of understanding and knowledge concerning the true nature of God and reality.
The New Age Movement is a religious system with two basic beliefs: Evolutionary Godhood and Global Unity.
What is Evolutionary Godhood?
It is the next step in evolution. It will not be physical, but spiritual:
For the most part, the NAM. espouses evolution, both of body and spirit. Man is developing and will soon leap forward into new spiritual horizons. Many New Age practices are designed to push one ahead into that horizon. Some of them are astral projection which is training your soul to leave your body and travel around; contacting spirits so they may speak through you or guide you; using crystals to purify your body's and mind's energy systems; visualization where you use mental imagery to imagine yourself as an animal, in the presence of a divine being, or being healed of sickness, etc.
Evolutionary Godhood also means that mankind will soon see itself as god, as the "Christ principle."
The NAM. teaches that Man's basic nature is good and divine. This opposes God's Word which says...
that we are sinners: "Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned" (Rom. 5:12, NIV).
and that our nature is corrupt: "All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath" (Eph. 2:3, NIV).
It teaches that since man is divine by nature, he then has divine qualities.
This is an important part of NAM. thinking. Because the average New Ager believes himself to be divine, he can then create his own reality. If, for example, a person believes that reincarnation is true, that's fine because that is his reality. If someone he knows doesn't believe in it, that is alright too because that is someone else's reality. They can each have a reality for themselves that "follows a different path."
In contrast to this, the Bible says that God alone is the creator: "This is what the LORD says -- your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am the LORD, who has made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by myself" (Isa. 44:24, NIV).
The New Ager who believes in his own divinity and ability to create usurps the authority and position of God. He also is still listening to the lie of the devil who spoke to Eve and said she would be like God (Gen. 3:5).
Reincarnation
Though not all New Agers adhere to reincarnation, most believe in some form or another. And, many believe the Bible was changed to remove any verses that might have taught reincarnation. But this accusation only shows the limitation of their knowledge. The Bible never had any references to reincarnation.
Reincarnation opposes the Word of God which says that it is appointed for man to die once, and after this comes judgment (Heb. 9:27).
The second major element of the New Age Movement is Global Unity which consists of three major divisions: Man with Man; Man with Nature; and Man with God.
Man with man.
The NAM teaches that we will all learn our proper divine relationship with one another and achieve harmony and mutual love and acceptance through the realization and acceptance of this divine proper knowledge.
Within this hoped harmony is economic unity. The average New Ager is looking for a single world leader who, with New Age principles, will guide the world into a single harmonious economic whole.
It is also hoped that this leader will unite the world into a spiritual unity; that is, a one world religion.
The New Age hope is reminiscent of the Scriptures that speak of the coming Antichrist:
2 Thess. 2:3-4, "Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God." See also Rev. 13:17,14:9,11; 16:2; 19:20.
Man with nature
Since the NAM. says that God is all, and all is God, then nature is also part of God. Man must then get in tune with nature and learn to nurture it and be nurtured by it. In this, all people can unite.
American Indian philosophies are popular among New Agers because they focus on the earth, on nature, and man's relationship to them.
New Age philosophy generally seeks to merge with those philosophies that put man and nature on an equal level. We are no more or less important or different than our cousin the animal, bird, or fish. We must live in harmony with them, understand them, and learn from them, is the general philosophy of the New Age.
This is opposed to the Scriptural teaching of man's superiority over animals (Gen. 1:26-27; 2:19). This does not mean that Man must abuse what he is over, but Man is given the responsibility of caring for and being stewards of God's creation (Gen. 2:15). God will hold Christians responsible for the stewardship that has been entrusted to them.
The New Agers have a name for the earth. It is Gaia. Gaia is to be revered and respected. Some New Agers even worship the earth and nature.
This opposes the Scripture that says we are not to have any other Gods before God (Ex. 20:3).
Man with God
Since the NAM. teaches that man is divine by nature, all people, once they see themselves as such, will be helped in their unity of purpose, love, and development. The goal is to fully realize our own goodness. It is obvious that this contradicts Scriptures, c.f., Rom. 3:10-12: "As it is written: �There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one."
Additional beliefs of the NAM. view of God are:
He (it) is impersonal, omnipresent, and benevolent -- therefore he (it) won't condemn anyone.
The New Age god is impersonal. An impersonal God will not reveal himself nor will he have specific requirements as to morality, belief, and behavior. This is why reincarnation appeals so much to them. With it, there is no judgment, there is a second chance, a third chance, and fourth, etc.
It should be noted that because the New Ager seeks to elevate himself to godhood, he must lower the majesty and personhood of the true God. In other words, the universe isn't big enough for one true God, but it is big enough for a bunch of little ones.
There are no moral absolutes in the New Age. Therefore, they claim to have a spiritual tolerance for all "truth systems." They call this "harmonization."
There is an obvious problem here. To say that there are no moral absolutes is an absolute in itself which is self contradictory. Also, if morality is relative, then stealing may be right sometimes, along with lying, adultery, cheating, etc. Living in a world of moral relativism would not bring a promising future.
It would follow that if reality is relative and truth is too, then driving a car would be difficult. After all, if one New Ager thinks the light is red and another thinks its green, when they collide, their different realities will come crashing down on them. That is something most interesting about New Agers, they don't live what they believe. That is because in reality, New Age thinking doesn't work.
The New Age movement does espouse honesty, integrity, love, peace, etc. It just wants to do it without the true God. It wants to do it not on His terms, but on its own.

Today, we shall review a most interesting and informative book entitled, "The Occult Roots of Nazism: Secret Aryan Cults And Their Influence on Nazi Ideology", by Nicholas Goodrick-Clarke, New York University Press, New York, 1992.
If you are a New Age adherent, we urge you to carefully and thoughtfully consider the revelations contained within this article. Once World War II concluded, the world discovered the unbelievable widespread genocide carried out by Hitler's Nazis, a genocide which slaughtered almost 20,000,000 innocent men, woman, and children whom the Nazis had concluded were not "worthy of life". Horrified Western historians were unified in their inability to understand how the "Christian" Germany of Martin Luther could have become the Satanic Germany of Adolf Hitler. Additionally, these Germans were well educated, well versed in the Arts and Entertainment, and seemed to typify the type of individual that Humanists could point to with pride and say, "See, we told you man was inherently good, and that, if you educated him, and exposed him to the better things of life, he would naturally develop his better nature".
This historian, a secular one, decided to look in a different place for the answer to why Germans could so quickly have turned into the monstrous killers of Adolf Hitler. Goodrick-Clarke carefully examined the occult roots of Nazism and discovered that a Satanic "Revival" had occurred in Germany from 1890-1935, thoroughly preparing the German people to support, love, and respect Adolf Hitler. Further, enough young Germans supported Hitler so much they were willing to pull the triggers of the guns and of the levers of the gas chambers to slaughter Hitler's devalued persons.
As Goodrick-Clarke examined these occult leaders who so completely prepared the German populace to accept Hitler, he listed the beliefs and goals of these early occult German leaders. As I read through these beliefs and goals, I was horrified to realize that they were identical to the New Age beliefs. THE NOT-SO-NEW AGE FACT SHEET
SO JUST WHAT IS THE NEW AGE?
The New Age is essentially all the modern day occult-based philosophies and practices rolled up in to one world religion. This wide range of spirit worship, Eastern mysticism, Mind-science religion and avant-garde psychology. Its essence loneliness or god-within. Thus people have to look no further than themselves for all of life is answers.
This is same lie that Eve was taught in Gen. 3:1-5 is taught by New Age teachers, leaders and by the serpent. That serpent in the garden was initiating Eve into higher consciousness. You will notice 3 concepts in the serpent is lie:
1) Yea, hath God said...?"(verse 1). He cast doubt on the Word of God.
2) Ye shall not surely die..." (verse 4) He denied the reality of death
3)your eyes shall be open, and shall be as gods... (verse 5) Finally, he claimed that she could attain the status of God...
You do not have look any father than Gen 3:14-19 to see that the New Ager brings the curse of death upon themselves though the same SIN as Adam and Eve did. Or as it says in Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the earth, and death passed upon all men, for all have sinned. There is no other way to get rid of this sinful burden with out taking the Bible the way it was written verse upon verse. In Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord; only through this free gift we get our eternal life. Not through some not so-New Age LIE, that is based only on one verse.
THE NEW AGE AND THE BIBLE:
When I was in the New Age for 18 years the Bible was more accepted but very twisted to meet the Dogma of the New Age leaders. Another former top New Age leader put this way.
In New Age philosophy, the Holy Bible is accepted, but only conditionally, it being taken only as one scripture among many others. Also, I began to see that New Age philosophy picks and chooses what it likes and doesn't like from the pages of the Bible. It also re-interprets these select passages with a metaphysical New Age slant.
The New Age Movement (or NAM) has not only taken the Word of God, but many common used Christian terms and put them into their every-day language. First we must bring the New Age disciple to the understanding of what the Bible is.
The Bible is not only a good book but it is the word of God; you see this in John 1: 1-5
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him ; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shined in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
For the NAM thinks there are many gods and does not understand John 1:1-3 so we must follow with 1 Corinthians, 8:5,6:
For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one lord Jesus Christ, by whom are things, and we by him.
There is only one one God the God of the Bible, NOT THE SELF as NAM believes.
The NAM does not understand what will happen to anybody that tampers with the Bible. In Rev. 22: 18,19 it says
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
As Christians we need to know our Bible and Christen terms for life we save may be you or a loved one. Do not be afraid to ask the question, Of what does that term mean to you but also if they know Jesus Christ as there personal savior.
JESUS CHRIST AND THE NEW AGE.
NAM disciples believe that Jesus is one of many great masters who have lived on earth. He had to work through many lifetimes to attain the Christ-self . He was able, by studying under Egyptian and Tibetan masters, to acquire occult power to do miracles Once he did so, he was able to pass it on to his disciples.
Just who is Jesus Christ is he the Lord of all; The Bible teaches that Jesus is God (John 1:1-2,14, Col. 1:15), and that He is uniquely God in Rev. 1:11,17-18 and 22:13-16 Jesus states that He is God, the first and the last-the only God there ever was or will be (Isaiah 43:10). Anyone who thus denies Jesus is denying Good (1 John 2:23). This is not the New Age Jesus. Check out which Jesus it is. (see Matthew 24: 23-24).
VISIONS OR VISUALIZE?
Does visualization come from the same gift of God that as a vision? Or is it of God at all? Just what is visualization anyway?
VISUALIZATION: The New Age practice based on the concept that thoughts have the power to create objective reality and that by visualizing circumstances in an altered frame of reference, one can literally transform fancy into reality.
Do we tell God what to do or to change by our mind power? Are we to tell God to change anything? Who do we think we are? Is there any good in using our self (flesh, or carnal mind) to change fancy into reality? And who's doing the changing of the reality?
In Romans, 8;5-8 we are clearly taught:
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the laws of God, neither indeed can be. So then that are in the flesh cannot please God.
That pretty well rules out the use of visions which we attempt to evoke out of our carnal mind. Visions which spring spontaneously to our minds from the Holy Spirit are one thing, as long as their doctrine conforms to the Bible! (Isaiah 8:20) These are Biblical. However, to conjure images of "Jesus" healing someone or of us driving a fancy car is moving into the realm of magic and New Age techniques. Real spiritual discernment is needed here! (1 John 4:1)

Channeling is a phenomenon in which a physical person enters an altered state of consciousness and lends his or her mind and/or body (depending on the technique employed) to be used by a nonphysical entity in order to communicate from its level of existence to ours.
Now in Christian terms from an ex-New Age follower who channeled for over 15 years both for the New Age and the Christian church. When I was led by mother to take my first spirt (demon) at the age of 3. I will never forget the feeling of that demon came into to my small body. First I felt a warm feeling; But I knew that it was an invader (not of myself).
When I first started to used the spirit guide to speak thought me; And answer questions that was given to me. The spirit was almost never wrong. Is God ever wrong? This channeling went on in front of occult and church groups till I was 21.. Most church-goers did not know that I was Channeling ; because I used Christian terms and prophesied in THE SPIRIT.
In the the book of 1 Thess. 5:19-22, Paul warns us:
Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesying. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil.
We must check all prophesy to the Word of the God if it does not line up get rid of it. God is never wrong. And most of all check which spirit is being used for prophesy. It also says in Matthew 24: 23-24:
Then if any man shall say unto you, lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christ, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
The Bible teaches that trying to contact the dead (whether ordinary dead folks like "Uncle Harry" or distinguished dead folks like Ramtha) is very dangerous Sin! (Lev. 19:31, Deut, 18:10-12,Is 8:19-20, Rev.21:8) In the old Testament, the penalty for consulting with those who spoke with familiar spirits or spirit guides was death (Ex. 22:18, Lev. 20:6)! God wasn't kidding with this!

Having been raised in the occult from a very early age we were teaching others how to teach occult practices to others. Of the many groups who came to us, a number were school teachers, but not as a group, just individuals.
When prayer and the Bible were taken out of the schools in 1962, the moral law was removed as well. Lawlessness set in and a wave of unruliness in the classroom. Not understanding that the Bible and God were the moral standards, teachers were looking to bring some order and interest in learning back to the classroom. Mind sciences became an avenue to reach not only the child's mind intellectually, but even to touch their emotions and will. Those techniques included different types of meditation, visualization through guided imagery exercises, as well as stress reduction.
Once learned, they became a way of life, not just for the teacher but also for the student which gives both the teacher and student no absolutes for the sky is the limit. If you can visualize it you can have it.
What happens to the kid who does not achieve what he visualizes? This is what happened to me from my personal testimony.
I was out of control; by this I mean, with no absolutes I was up when I got to my goals. But when I did not achieve my goals, I was way down to the point of suicide. You see when you add peer pressure to achieve, the child has no way to save face when they don't make the goal.( You wonder why the suicide rate is going up in school age children).
Through eastern mysticism, and no ABSOLUTES or value system, our society is being changed to accept the New Age answers. The hysterical part of this is that the New Age philosophy created the problems that they are now trying to solve. So now New Agers can be heroes in developing answers to the problems they've created.
With the only true God who gave us the social structures, government structures, family structures, and individual standards, the problems cease to exist when these standards are followed.
Without the structures God gave and with a value system being destroyed by New Age thinking, we see the increase in alcoholism, drug abuse, sexual immorality, all of which leads to higher divorce rates, which leads to the breakdown of the family and the love everyone needs. When the family unit dissolves the destructive cycle increases and propagates itself.
