BABYLON - HISTORY OF THE WHORE
THE TOWER OF BABEL
Gen 11:1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.
Gen 11:2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.
Gen 11:3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.
Gen 11:4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top [may reach] unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
Gen 11:5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
Gen 11:6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people [is] one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
Gen 11:7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.
Gen 11:8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
Gen 11:9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.
SHORTLY AFTER THE GREAT FLOOD IN THE DAYS OF NOAH, MANKIND HAD ONE LANGUAGE. FILLED WITH PRIDE, SOME OF THOSE DECIDED TO BUILD A TOWER THAT WOULD REACH THE HEAVENS. IN TRYING TO MAKE A NAME FOR THEMSELVES, THEY WERE IN COMPLETE REBELLION TOWARDS GOD. GOD KNEW WHAT THESE PEOPLE WERE UP TO, BUT BEING A RIGHTEOUS GOD, HE TOOK A CLOSER LOOK. KNOWING THAT THESE PEOPLE WERE TRYING TO GET TO HEAVEN THEIR OWN WAY, GOD SAID, "LET US GO DOWN" A PLURAL EXPRESSION THAT SHOWS THAT GOD WAS TALKING TO ANOTHER PART OF THE TRINITY. THIS ALONG WITH THE FOLLOWING VERSE IN GENESIS, PROVES THE EXISTENCE OF JESUS CHRIST FROM THE BEGINNING:
Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:
THE RING LEADER
2. Now it was Nimrod who excited them to such an affront and contempt of God. He was the grandson of Ham, the son of Noah, a bold man, and of great strength of hand. He persuaded them not to ascribe it to God, as if it was through his means they were happy, but to believe that it was their own courage which procured that happiness. He also gradually changed the government into tyranny, seeing no other way of turning men from the fear of God, but to bring them into a constant dependence on his power. He also said he would be revenged on God, if he should have a mind to drown the world again; for that he would build a tower too high for the waters to be able to reach! and that he would avenge himself on God for destroying their forefathers ! IN RESPONSE TO THE PEOPLE`S REBELLION, THE LORD STRETCHED HIS "HAND" UPON THEM, SCATTERED THEM AND CONFUSED THEIR LANGUAGE. IT IS INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT THERE ARE MORE THAN 3,000 LANGUAGES AND DIALECTS IN THE WORLD TODAY! THE LESSON TO BE LEARNED HERE; GOD HATES PRIDE AND WILL NOT ACCEPT MATERIAL THINGS TO GAIN AN AUDIENCE (SALVATION) WITH HIM!
BABYLON IS MENTIONED NUMEROUS TIMES IN SCRIPTURE, ALWAYS IN A NEGATIVE LIGHT, {CHRONOLOGICALLY} IN THE FOLLOWING OLD TESTAMENT BOOKS: First and Second Kings, First and Second Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Psalms, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel,Micah and Zechariah. OUR EXAMINATION OF BABYLON WILL NEXT FOCUS ON THE BOOK OF DANIEL.
BETWEEN THE YEARS OF 605-586 BC, THE JEWS WERE TAKEN CAPTIVE AND FORCED TO RELOCATE TO BABYLON. DURING THEIR CAPTIVITY, GOD RAISED UP A GREAT PROPHET NAMED DANIEL. DANIEL FOUND GOOD FAVOR IN THE EYES OF ONE OF THE RULERS OF THAT TIME, NEBUCHADNEZZAR. THROUGH GOD, DANIEL COULD INTERPRET DREAMS THE KING HAD AND USED THE KING TO REVEAL THE FUTURE OF THE JEWS THROUGH HISTORY. BABYLON IS OFTEN PORTRAYED BY BIBLICAL WRITERS AS A MODEL FOR PAGANISM AND IDOLATRY. WHEN KING NEBUCHADNEZZAR`S DREAMS COULD NOT INTERPRETED BY THE KING`S MAGICIANS, ASTROLOGERS AND SORCERERS, HE TURNED TO DANIEL. THE TWO DREAMS OF MOST IMPORTANCE TO GOD`S PROGRAM FOR HIS CHOSEN PEOPLE WERE:
Dan 2:32 This image's head [was] of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,
Dan 2:33 His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.
Dan 2:34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet [that were] of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.
Dan 2:35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth

THE FIRST DREAM CAME TO NEBUCHADNEZZAR AND WAS INTERPRETED BY DANIEL. THE SECOND DREAM CAME DIRECTLY TO DANIEL AND PARALLELS THE FIRST DREAM OF THE KING`S:
Dan 7:1 In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, [and] told the sum of the matters.
Dan 7:2 Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.
Dan 7:3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.
Dan 7:4 The first [was] like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it.
Dan 7:5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and [it had] three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.
Dan 7:6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.
Dan 7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it [was] diverse from all the beasts that [were] before it; and it had ten horns.
Dan 7:8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn [were] eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
Dan 7:9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment [was] white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne [was like] the fiery flame, [and] his wheels [as] burning fire.
Dan 7:10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
Dan 7:11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld [even] till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.
Dan 7:12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.
Dan 7:13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, [one] like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
Dan 7:14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion [is] an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom [that] which shall not be destroyed.
IN THESE TWO DREAMS, DANIEL IS SHOWN THE PRESENT WORLD KINGDOM AND THOSE WHICH WOULD FOLLOW. THE FIRST KINGDOM SYMBOLIZED BY THE HEAD OF GOLD IN THE FIRST DREAM AND THE A LION IN THE SECOND DREAM, REPRESENTS THE BABYLON OF DANIEL`S TIME. THE SECOND KINGDOM IS SYMBOLIZED BY ARMS AND A BREAST OF SILVER AND A BEAR, WAS THAT OF MEDO-PERSIA. THE THIRD IS SYMBOLIZED BY A BELLY AND THIGHS OF BRASS AND A LEOPARD WAS GREECE. THE FOURTH ONE IS OF GREATEST INTEREST TO US. IN THE FIRST DREAM, THE IMAGE NEBUCHADNEZZAR SAW HAD LEGS OF IRON AND TOES THAT WERE PART IRON AND PART CLAY. THE LEGS SYMBOLIZED THE ROMAN EMPIRE PAST AND THE TOES THE FUTURE ROMAN EMPIRE. IN THE SECOND DREAM THIS EMPIRE IS DEPICTS A BEAST WHICH IS NOT NAMED. IT IS DESCRIBED AS AN UNKNOWN HIDEOUS MONSTER. AGAIN, IT`S THE ROMAN EMPIRE! THE ROMAN EMPIRE IS TWO, PAST AND FUTURE, FROM OUR PERSPECTIVE. IT IS WIDELY ACCEPTED THAT THE NEW REVIVED ROMAN EMPIRE, SYMBOLIZED BY THE TEN TOES, IS THE EUROPEAN UNION. THE TEN HORNS (V.24) ARE KINGS AND THE LITTLE HORN IS ANOTHER KING WHICH WILL ARISE AFTER THE OTHER TEN AND HE WILL SUBDUE THREE OF THE KINGS. THE LITTLE HORN IS THE ANTICHRIST. THE PARALLELS BETWEEN THIS FOURTH BEAST IN DANIEL AND THE ONE IN REVELATION 13, ARE A NEAR CARBON COPY. SO TO GET A FULL UNDERSTANDING OF THE BOOK OF REVELATION, IT IS NECESSARY TO STUDY THE BOOK OF DANIEL. BABYLON, THE PLACE, IS LOCATED IN ALL FOUR EMPIRES. A PROMISE FROM GOD TO ISRAEL IS FOUND IN THE BOOK OF MICAH:
Mic 4:3 And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
Mic 4:10 Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go [even] to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the LORD shall redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies.

THE GREAT HARLOT - REVELATION 17
THIS CHAPTER OF REVELATION DEALS WITH THE JUDGEMENT OF THAT GREAT WHORE, BABYLON. BUT WHO IS THIS HARLOT AND WHY DOES THE LORD EXECUTE SUCH SEVERE JUDGEMENT UPON HER. THERE ARE MANY CLUES WITHIN CHAPTERS 17 AND 18 OF REVELATION. THESE CLUES CAN THEN BE TRACED THROUGH THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD SHORTLY AFTER CHRIST`S ASCENSION. WE WILL LOOK AT THIS CHAPTER VERSE BY VERSE:
Rev 17:1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:
THE ANGEL IN THIS PASSAGE SHOWS JOHN, THE JUDGEMENT BROUGHT BY THE SEVENTH BOWL OR VIAL, IN THE FOLLOWING TWO CHAPTERS OF OUR STUDY. THE WHORE IS "BABYLON THE GREAT" IN VERSE 5. "WATERS", ARE THE PEOPLES OF THE EARTH. "SITTETH UPON", IS HER INFLUENCE OVER THOSE PEOPLE.
Rev 17:2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
THE WHORE`S SPIRITUAL ADULTERY HAS SPREAD TO ALL THE KINGDOMS ON THE EARTH. IT IS MY BELIEF THAT THE WHORE HERE IS THE LARGEST CHURCH ON THE PLANET, WITH OVER 1 BILLON MEMBERS. THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH HAS CONTROLLED MANY NATION`S LEADERS FOR HUNDREDS OF YEARS. SHE BELIEVES IT IS HER DIVINE RIGHT TO RULE THE WORLD. Rev 17:3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
THE BEAST HERE IS DEFINITELY THE SAME BEAST WE HAVE SEEN EARLIER IN REVELATION 13, WHICH IS THE ANTICHRIST AND HIS ONE WORLD KINGDOM. THE FACT THAT THE WOMAN IS SITTING ON TOP OF THE BEAST, SHOWS THE INLUENCE THAT THE WHORE HAS OVER THE ANTICHRIST`S KINGDOM. REMEMBER THE ANTICHRIST WANTS THE PEOPLE OF THE EARTH TO WORSHIP HIM ALONE! THE PAGAN PRACTICES OF THE HARLOT`S RELIGION, AFTER IT`S PURPOSE HAS BEEN SERVED, MUST BE ELIMINATED BY THE BEAST.
Rev 17:4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
IN DAVE HUNT`S BOOK "A WOMAN RIDES THE BEAST" WE FIND THE MOST TELLING DESCRIPTION OF THE COLORS AND THE CUP SEEN IN VERSE 4:

The incredible wealth of this woman caught John's attention next. She was dressed "in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication" (Revelation 17:4). The colors of purple and scarlet once again identify the woman with both pagan and Christian Rome. These were the colors of the Roman caesars with which the soldiers mockingly robed Christ as "King" (see Matthew 27:28 and John 19:2,5), which the Vatican took to itself. The woman's colors are literally still the colors of the Catholic clergy! The same Catholic Encyclopedia quoted above states:

A cloak with a long train and a hooded shoulder cape ... [it] was purple wool for bishops; for cardinals, it was scarlet watered silk (for Advent, Lent, Good Friday, and the conclave, purple wool); and rose watered silk for Gaudete and Lactate Sundays; and for the pope, it was red velvet for Christmas Matins, red serge at other times.
Cassock (also Soutane)
The close-fitting, ankle-length robe worn by the Catholic clergy as their official garb.... The color for bishops and other prelates is purple, for cardinals scarlet ....
The "golden cup [chalice] in her hand" again identifies the woman with the Roman Catholic Church. Broderick's edition of The Catholic Encyclopedia declares of the chalice: "[It is] the most important of the sacred vessels.... [It] may be of gold or silver, and if the latter, then the inside must be surfaced with gold." The Roman Catholic Church possesses many thousands of solid gold chalices kept in its churches around the world. Even the bloodstained cross of Christ has been turned to gold and studded with gems in reflection of Rome's great wealth. The Catholic Encyclopedia says: "The pectoral cross [suspended by a chain around the neck and worn over the breast by abbots, bishops, archbishops, cardinals, and the pope] should be made of gold and ... decorated with gems ...

JOHN NOW SEES A HORRIFYING SIGHT. THE WHORE IS DRUNKEN ON THE BLOOD OF THE SAINTS AND MARTYRS OF JESUS. THE WHORE HAS INDULGED IN KILLING THOSE TRUE BELIEVERS IN JESUS CHRIST. THE ROMAN CATHOLIC HARLOT CHURCHES HAS NEVER REPENTED OF THEIR MURDERS THROUGHOUT THE AGES.

"WAS" - IT EXISTED BEFORE THE ANCIENT, "IS NOT" - IT HASN`T EXISTED SINCE IT`S FALL IN THE FIFTH CENTURY, BUT WILL RISE AGAIN UNDER THE ANTICHRIST IN THE LAST DAYS. "SHALL ASCEND OUT OF THE BOTTOMLESS PIT"- SATAN WILL RISE UP THE ANTICHRIST AND THE FALSE PROPHET AND BRING ABOUT A WORLDWIDE ROMAN EMPIRE.
