Dear Sir or Madame,
I hope that I am not asking too much, but could you possibly doo me a favor? It seems as though I left my jacket on your train and I would like it back as soon as possible.
I was riding the train from Portland to San Francisco on the 15th of January and I forgot to pick up my jacket before I exited the train. I first realized this when I felt cold, and when I reached for my jacket, nothing was there.
During the long train ride I had fallen asleep shortly after breakfast and I did not wake up until after they had served dinner. I was well rested, as you could imagine, but I was still a little unaware of everything going on around me. At fisrt, I had forgotten where I was. Then I realized that I was riding on a train. It took me even longer to realize where I was going.
My head was spinning somewhat and I decided I needed a drink. I went to the bar and had a few drink, I can't remember what the were, probably vodka or tequilla. While I was drinking, I met a young man from Seattle who was going to San Fransisco State University in the spring. He was telling me stories about how he always wanted to make movies in Hollywood, ever since he saw the movie "Psycho" when he was eleven years old. We got into a large conversation about movies and musical scores for movies and we had great debates.
The train had stopped at my destination while we were talking and I almost forgot that I had to get off. I rushed into my compartment where I was staying and grabbed my two blue suitcases. I completely forgot that I had put my jacket in the small closet next to the door becasue when I opened the door and looked around for my things, the door was in front of the closet and I was in such a hurry that I didn't pay attention.
My jacket may still be in that small closet in compartment number fourty-three, but I do not know for sure. Someone may have picked it up and put it in the lost and found, or maybe they thought that they could keep it, but if it is still in the closet, I would greatly appreciate it if you could return my jacket to me.
Sincerely,
Julius Fluency
