A Country Divided
Profile:  The Civil War

Objectives:
(1) Examine and break down information into parts by identifying motives or causes.  Make inferences and find evidence to support generalizations.
(2) Compile information in a different way by combining elements in a new pattern or proposing alternative solutions.
(3) Present and defend opinions by making judgments about information.

Classroom Management:
Students will work together in groups of three on classroom computers.

State Proficiency

(1) Demonstrate the ability to use information to make informed decisions and choices.
(2) Compare and contrast points of agreement and disagreement.
(3) Identify and weigh alternative viewpoints.
(4) Identify the factors, which have contributed to America's cultural pluralism including racial ethnic and religious backgrounds of this nations people.
(5) Understand the rational, consequences and application of the constitution, including The Bill of   Rights and other amendments.
