WEBQUEST I:
THE SONNET
Through research, historians have concluded that at about the same time that Shakespeare was writing Romeo and Juliet, he was probably writing his sonnets as well.  A Shakesperian sonnet is a fourteen line poem, with each line usually containing ten syllables.  The sonnet has three quatrains, and a couplet. The basic form of a sonnet is as follows:
--The first four lines (rhyming ABAB)
--The next four lines (rhyming CDCD)
--The next four lines (rhyming EFEF)
--A couplet (two lines) to finish (rhyming GG)
