I was with my family in an Italian Restaurant, in Pittsburgh, Pa., eating spaghetti and mushrooms, at the time Kennedy was shot. A cop came into the restaurant to let us know the news. We left the restaurant and went to Gimble�s and I remember my brother tossing a football around in his hands when the radio gave us the bad news that Kennedy was dead.
Several days later I was back in my 2nd grade classroom. The teacher wrote the names, Lee Harvey Oswald and Jack Ruby on the blackboard. She talked about the assassination. Then she talked about Kennedy's religion. Because I was the only catholic in the room she asked me to show the class how to make the sign of the cross.
Several years later I remember hearing about the Jim Garrison investigation on the radio. Because we lived in rural West Virginia where information was scarce, we didn't understand what was going on with that investigation. It wasn't until 1989 that I began my serious reading on the subject. It's clear to me now that the Warren Report is a lie. JFK tried to stop the Viet Nam War, which was a sad chapter in United States history.
