Moscow - Red Square
The Red (Beautiful) Square is a vasts expanse used for public events. One side of Red Square is dominated by the GUM department store, now an upscale  shopping mall.
We entered Red Square through the Resurrection Gates.
Lenin's tomb.
The National Historical Museum.
The Kazan Cathedral.
Behind Lenin's tomb, the Sobakina tower (built in 1492), part of the Kremlin wall.
In one corner of Red Square stands the Church of the Intercession, better known as St. Basil's.
This male quintet was singing in one of the domed chapels.  The sound was magnificent.  We bought their CD.
St. Basil's is an ancient church with an ornate interior.  The present church comprises a series of chapels built at different times.
