"McManus förtjänar mitt fd jobb"

Vem Gordon Strachan har valt som ny lagkapten till kommande säsong är inte klart. Men klart är att den fd kaptenen Neil Lennon som har lämnat klubben har sagt att han tycker Stephen McManus förtjänar lagkaptensrollen.
Lennon tilläger: "I think Gordon has already pencilled him in as a natural leader and I know Alex McLeish thinks highly of him in a Scotland set-up. "I see no reason why he can't take over the captaincy at Celtic now. Stephen filled in very well for me whenever I was out injured or suspended."
"People might look at his age and say he's a bit too young for that role but I've no problem with Mick taking over.
"He's matured greatly in the last few season and even established himself in the Scotland set-up.
"He is a leader and has come through the ranks here which i think is important as well.
"The fans want someone who has done that to take over the mantle.
"There are other candidates but Stephen is the stand-out for me."
