Celtic går ikväll in i skotska CIS-cupen (Ligacupen) i ett bortamöte mot division I-laget Dundee FC. Efter två förluster; Shaktar & Hibernian är det nu dags att bevisa att man inte viker ner sig i cupen.
Dundee Football Club är den äldsta klubben i Dundee. Man spelar sina matcher på Dens Park. Man är för närvarande på andra plats i ligan, fyra poäng bakom ledande Hamilton med 18 poäng.
Dundee har tidigare spelat länge i SPL men blev nerflyttade efter säsongen 2004/05. Sista mötet lagen emellan var 2 mars 2005 när Celtic vann med klara 3-0. De sex senaste matcherna har slutat med fem segrar för Celtic och en oavgjord.
Toppmålskytten i laget är Bob Davidson. Fyra mål i ligan än så länge. Alla i ligan.
I fjol åkte Celtic ut tidigt mot Falkirk. Ikväll gäller bara att vinna så man går vidare till nästa runda som lottas imorgon.
Till laguttagningen då.. Vi tror GS väljer ett starkt lag med diverse reserver. Artur Boruc borde få stå kvar eftersom han var stor orsak till förlusten mot Hibernian. Det borde skärpa hans självförtroende om han får stå kvar och göra en jättematch, istället.
Så här säger lagkapten McManus om matchen:
"We're still full of confidence," he told the club's official website. "We've had a couple of bad results, but we can't change that. We just move on and the mood in the camp is great.
"There's nothing worse than when you've had a few defeats and everybody is down. But that's certainly not the case at our place.
"As a squad, we're confident. When we lose a few games, we know that people will ask questions, but the players also know what it means to play for this club and the pressure that is put on you.
"It can be tough playing at Celtic at times, but there are ups and downs in football. For every negative, there is a positive. At the moment, we've lost a couple of games.
"But that can happen at any club. Look at Man United. They had a couple of bad results at the start of the season and everyone said the league was finished. Now they are right back up there, so you never know what will happen in football.
"It's important that you keep your feet on the ground. We were on a high and then we lost two games. But you just grit your teeth and get on with it.
"This will be a tough match against Dundee. We will treat it like any other game and the best way to deal with pressure is by winning games. Dundee will fancy themselves on home soil, so we will need to be up for it. But I'm confident we will be." Fjolårets vinnare är föresten Hibernian.
