Sabbat Blessings and Cross Quarter Cheer

A Sabbat is a solar celebration.

This Feb 2nd is the Second Sabbat of the year.
It is known as Imbolc and is known as Candlemass.

The Name is celtic and common among wiccans and pagans.

February is the Month of StormMoon

also known as Horning Moon, Hunger Moon, Wild Moon, Red & Cleansing Moon,

Quickening Moon, and Big Winter Moon

The symbology of storm moon is Stormy. Set to rage fiercely before it
Ends... Winter death and darkness coming to an end. Time to Plan for
The Future. And what we will pursue in the coming months

The celts would think this time to be of Initiation and Purification

Imbolc marks the recovery of the goddess... after giving birth to the
God. She's awakened by the longer days of light... the God is felt when
The sun's warmth fertilizes the earth )0(GODDESS)0(
Which Brings Stirrings of Spring.

Which causes the seed to germinate. and grow.

It is a Greater Sabbat of
Purification. Light and fertility.

Which bonfires represent our illumination and inspiration.
A time for Initiation. Self-dedication. Renewal.

Imbolc is also the Mid point between Summer Solstice Dec 21st *YULE* and
Spring Equinox March 21st *Ostara* (Vernal Equinox)

February
February is a month named after Februa Mother of Mars.

and also known as Juno Februa....

February is also known to be named after

the God Februus (Pluto)....

Imbolc being a cross quarter also known in other references to

Ground Hogs day. Wives feast day...

The Goddess Brigid is focused on Imbolc (In a lot of traditions)

Our Coven is focusing on Isis and Osirus.
and on esbat we will focus on Brigid.

The story of Brigid. Becoming a saint, is that the pagans would not
stop celebrating Imbolc. That they would do so in private. The catholic
church seeing they couldn't come between the Goddess Brigid and The
Pagans (or Peasants) decided to Put a cross on her *Symbollically* so they could atleast say she's the patron saint of all saints.

Maiden.. and Patron..

She is the Triple Goddess of the Celtic Empire. Brigitanna which
included parts of Spain France and British Isles.

She was a typical female trinity (The Maiden). She ruled over her two sisters.
Governed by the art of healing and smithcraft also known as
"Brigid the female sage"
Brigid was adored by poets she was very caring and protecting.

J.A. MacCulloch
(Scottish scholar author of Religion of the Ancient Celts 1911)
Said the Celts worshipped goddess's than gods. Being that the females
would be more tending to the heal "she had a female priesthood and
perhaps men were excluded from her cults as the tabooed shrine at
Kiladare suggests" there they kept a everburning sacred fire in honor of
Brigid. like the temple of Vesta in Rome. She was also the mystic mother
and bride of St Patrick. Her Priestess's in Kiladare were 19
like the 19 moons of the Celtic year..
