Many cultures worship the Goddess in her many forms. These Goddesses have many names and represent a similarity in pagan culture. The worship of the 3 fold Goddess In her phases can focus on the stages of life, issues of culture, mysteries of the occult, and living myth that evolves as time proceeds.

The triple Goddess embodies the ordeals of all life stages including what is mentioned above. She has 3 faces: The face of youth, the face of maturity or strength, and the face of the elder.

Also known as the maiden (waxing moon), the mother (full moon) and crone (waining/dark moon) In life, these faces would represent the grandchild, the mother, and the grandmother which represent youth, fertility, and wisdom. She's been there done that and knows all about it.

The phases of the tri formed goddess also reflect on the change of seasons from spring towards summer, summer towards fall, fall towards winter, and winter towards spring. Which are symbollically comparable to birth, initiation, consummation, repose and death. Hecate is a goddess who has within her 3 faces experienced all rites of passage.

She is not only regarded as the vengeful, or the one who curses which is her popular . Hecate is universal within all moon phases and solar phases. She was a maiden goddess before she became crone. She is supreme in Heaven and Hell. She is referred to as a Guardian of the Crossroads. Thus she is the crone of the world above and below.

Hecate guides in childbirth, wealth, and healing, she rules over the mysteries of life and death. Her maiden aspect can be tapped into, during the new moon. She is a lady of doorways revealing the mysteries with her torch of light. Her maiden aspect also brings about new beginnings. From where life events have gone full circle. She resets the process and begins again.

I personally work with Hecate within thelemic witchcraft. She has much for me to understand and comprehend. Her ordeals are models for my absorption. I appreciate myths of past cultures and I aspire to create living myth. To make the myth of old to the myths of new.

During the full moon, Hecate can be worked with as the mother. She is the lady who scorns, reprimands, guides, her truths are swift and straight to the point. She uses her wisdom to guide, be just and redirect.

She is the crone and the hag faced witch queen, she is depicted with reverence for animals, ancestors and spirits of the underworld. The dark moon is her phase as well. Bestowing the mysteries, prophecies, visions of the ordeals of existence.
