The Fire
Sunday, February 2, 2003.  The first BEAUTIFUL day we've had in over two months.  65 degrees, sunny, and a perfect day to give Jezebel a much needed wash and wax.  I spent three hours cleaning the "winter" off her skin.  About five in the afternoon, I looked up to an absolutely beautiful red sky and thought it would make a beautiful background for some new photos.  Jezebel and I drove to the old (now closed) Lincoln County Hospital.  This is the story of that day.
Earlier today, Jezebel had been dying on me each time I hit a large bump in the road.  It was determined, by Bubba Goedde and myself, that her ignition switch was faulty.  I purchased one from Autozone, installed it and was on my way.
While taking these pictures, I had turned the key "backwards" to play the sterio while the engine was off.  When I looked through the viewfinder, just after taking THIS picture, I saw smoke rolling from every orifice between the grille and the quarter windows.
The ignition switch had shorted and Jezebel was on fire.
Knowing  the fire was electrical, I immediately popped the hood and disconnected the battery, grabbed the fire extenguisher and shot a quick burst of CO2 under the dash.

Jezebel is finally home.  We've spent 22 days apart. Many thanks to Randy Norman of Quality Automotive for finding the final short and helping get her back on the road.
