Chanda Davis: The most handy of the guards. He would later build me a guard shelter. He is also the one who keeps loosing my chickens though he almost always finds them again. Here my banana tree is collapsing because of the weight of the bananas. Behind is the fence which Zeus gets his head stuck in. Chanda always calls me Sir even though I tell him not to. On the ground you can see a fledgling corn field in the works. |

Derick: Derick Mulenga is the old CARE Guest House Guard that I befriended and became the Olympic Aid driver. He has 15 kids and knows his way through around a goat and chicken but doesn't eat ducks nor pigs for religious reasons, though he has been unable to point out the exact exerpt from the Bible where it is written. He is riding shotgun here. The background is Lusaka. |

Gerdie: My first vehicle. Her Turbo seals leak, she has no back shocks, her exhaust pipe is broke in two, her two batteries are sickly and the radio/tape player only works after three hours of driving, but she has got it where it counts. |

Guard Puppy: This is Poosh. He is our new security system. Poosh means Cat in Bemba so the guards are unhappy about the name. Poosh has fleas big time and is wayyyy too skinny. So far he only likes to eat corn paste with dried fish. |

Liz: This is the boring variety of chameleon. This one freezes still when it realizes that it has been spotted. It changes colours AND patterns to blend into patchy grass and what not. The other colour changer has a bright blue head and changes its entire body to the same colour. It is much more fun to chase around than this one. |

Olympic Aid Mporokoso: The fearless leaders. I'm wearing a traditional "Shitenge" but Greg hasn't had any made yet. Doesn't he look stupid dressed up like that? Still, good looking guys. Athletes? No. |

Simwanza and Anania: The two other security guards that work shift work with Chanda. Simwanza is the catapult and torch expert. Anania gardens. If someone is to try to break in Simwanza would get medivel on them. Anania would probably turn tail and run but he does such a good job of keeping the yard free of snakes that I would forgive him. |
