Song For The First Time



I never saw you as anything more then a friend, then-it changed. I mean you were-are my Willow. It's a fluke, that's what we said, but I know it was more then that. When I saw you in that dress, me in my tux-everything hit me all at once. It was a moment of truth. I realized that, we weren't kids anymore. Funny, we have slayed daemons and faced death head on-but it took some stupid party clothes to make me realize that we had grown up.

It was the tie. You helping me with the simplest thing, tying a tie. Something I should have been able to do myself, and you helped me. You've always been there to help me. And that's when it hit me. You are part of me, the best part. Now, I may think a lot of ridicules things, but for some reason what I thought at that moment made more sense to me then anything ever has. If you weren't there, who would do the simple stuff? So I kissed you.

Now, it's weird. Not because it's you and me-but because...of others. I look at you, and I feel like kicking myself. How could I have not seen this before? I mean, you were Willow-it never occurred to me, but.. Now I can't figure out why. It's like I'm seeing you with new eyes. You're still Willow. My best friend. But now, you're like Willow plus. You're so beautiful Will. I just, I can't believe I never saw it before.

It's all so strange how can it be

All along this love was right in front of me//

I don't know what's gonna happen. I don't know what I want to have happen, but I do know that I don't regret kissing you. And whatever happens, I'll never forget how I felt when I looked in your eyes. And I know it's corny, but at that moment I understood what love is. Love is never giving up. Love is always being there. Love is forgiving someone when they steal your Barbie. Love is not hating a guy for being a blind jackass. Love is Willow, my Willow. And I'll never regret realizing that.
