Eulogy for a life that never was
The frustration
the impatience
the excitment
the surprise
the sadness
the overwhelming sadness
I never had the chance to meet you
and yet
you have touched my life in ways I could not have forseen
I had so many plans
so much to teach you
I couldn't wait to hold you in my arms
to sing to you
to tell you I love you
and I do
even now
you said no words
and yet your non-existance speaks volumes
during a time when so many lives were taken
the promise of yours gave hope
it was a testiment to the statement "life goes on"
and yet, it didn't
your's never even began
a blessing perhaps?
you never saw the worst in people
you never saw the distruction
you never felt the hate
did you feel my love?
I do love you
and so
I will honor you the only way I know how
I will live.
