Writing is easy. Writers do need an opportunity to talk about their favorite topics.
Themselves.
Unfortunately, their favorite topics are not necessarily our favorite topics. That does create a problem.
We will therefore warn our other subscribers about each WOW by clearly labeling it on the Subject line of our e-mail. In that way, each subscriber can say wonderful things about themselves, while other subscribers can accidentally fidget with their Delete buttons.
To clarify:
Your WOW Subject line should look like this:
WOW: John Doe.
In the unlikely event that your name is not John Doe, you may substitute a more appropriate moniker.
Of course, we cannot promise that when your turn arrives, everybody else will want to read your own scintillating prose about yourself.
Why, then, do we have a WOW?
The WOW will help each writer pour out his or her frustrations, problems, difficulties, and hesitations about writing. We, as a worldwide support group, will offer suggestions about overcoming writers block, finding a better time, environment, or location in which to write, or offer any other helpful advice which may improve the writing ability of our fellow WOWs.
That means that it may be worth reading after all!
All you do
is stare at a blank sheet of paper
until drops of blood
form on your forehead
- Gene Fowler, American journalist
