At the time this was one of the best football games out there. You could pick actual plays, although only two running and two passing at a time. But still the players were real (sort of) with real stats. It was fun taking a Phil Simms or a Joe Montana and throwing for 500 yards. Running the ball wasn't quite as useful. This game was quickly over shadowed by the now classic Tecmo Super Bowl. The graphics and gameplay beat the crap out of other football games and this game set the basic architecture for it's amazing follow up. |
