Tecmo Baseball
Release Date: 1988
Tecmo decided in the late 80's that there weren't enough games that crossed the unhitability of Bases Loaded with the cartoonish fielding of R.B.I. Baseball and Baseball (self-titled). So this is where Tecmo Baseball comes in, to fill that much needed hole of crap.  Legends of the Diamond and Roger Clemens MVP baseball at least had ingenuity fielding wise, but oh no, not Tecmo. Tecmo thought,

"Hey guys, why don't we just take the fielding situations from the 1984 NES game 'Baseball' and not get the rights to use any real baseball player's name."

So we end up with Thomas, Kerry, Kevin, and Rick as our players.  I know there was no one in the Yankees outfield named Warren that hit .343. Tecmo does try being sneaky by putting a Mark on Oakland and a Donald on the Yankees. I hope the players union or major league baseball sued them anyway and took all their profits. This game does not live up to the Tecmo tradition in my opinion. At least it ain't Baseball Simulator 1.000.
You don't need new glasses. It really does say "FIGHT" on the scoreboard.
