Categories: Low-fat, Jewish, Holiday, Candy, Nuts
Yield: 96 Servings

1/4 c Tahini
1/4 c Honey
1/2 c Unsweetened coconut flakes
1/2 c Wheat germ
1/2 c Sunflower seeds
2 tb Carob powder
1/2 c Crushed walnuts

How about some lo-fat halvah to serve your guests over Chanukah -

"Cut into slices, this delicious confection makes a lovely scalloped
edging around your desert platter", says Jane Kinderlehrer in her book
"Cooking Kosher The NEW Way."

In a medium-sized bowl, combine the tahini and honey. In blender or
food processor, whiz coconut, wheat germ and sunflower seeds to a
powder. Add the carob powder. Combine the dry mixture with the tahini
mixture. Knead until it resembles a ball of dough. Separate into 4
portions. Shape each portion into a one-inch thick roll. Roll each
portion in crushed walnuts. Wrap individually in waxed paper.
Refrigerate.

Cut into 1/4 inch slices as needed. Makes 4 rolls, 24 slices in each
roll.
