Summary: After Dawson sees Joey perform at a basketball game, he falls in love with her. Well, lust. But how can he get past the studly Pacey?
Jen’s a bitch and Jack develops a crush on Pacey.
In this story, Dawson and Joey barely know each other, and everyone is practically a different person. It’s a little twisted.
Rating: R. Sexual references, swearing.
Disclaimer: Hmm right now all I can say is, at the rate your show is going, Paul Stupin, my story would perfectly fit into the bubble-bath the writers have created.
**** “These games are boring.” Dawson said through clenched teeth to his mother, who smiled widely to cover her frustration.
“Dawson, honey, your father is right down there, coaching them…he wants to see his family at these games.” She crossed her legs and flipped her perfectly styled hair. “And Jen would be extremely disappointed if we didn’t show.”
“Jen doesn’t give a fuck if we show or not.” Dawson replied. “Why did I have to come?”
Gale leaned closer. “Because your father’s son is a freak who can pick up a camera but not a basketball, that’s why, so you could at least show some support for Jen.”
That shut him up. He sighed and crossed his arms as the sweaty basketball players trampled all over the court.
Dawson hated sports, sure sometimes he liked to watch them but for the record he’d much rather fool around with his camera, which he kept by his side most times. His father, Coach Leery was touch as nails. He was loud, mean but just, and he loved his cheerleading daughter very much, and Dawson was okay with that.
The one thing that pissed Dawson off about his father was his father’s feelings for Pacey, the star basketball player, and their neighbor. He treated Pacey like a son, a second son, and the better son.
He had known Pacey for years, and so Pacey had come to also be a friend of Dawson. Well, a dysfunctional friend. They hung out, but both had nothing really in common, nor hung out with the same crowd at school. But both had a certain respect for each other.
He spotted Pacey on the sidelines, fiddling with a ball as he flirted with a few cheerleaders. He groaned wishing the evening was over, he was bored already, but then he had been there for nearly twenty minutes.
“And now, presenting the Cheerleading Squad!” some guy announced from up above, and loud mambo type music filled the gym, as a bunch of girls ran onto the court in their yellow and blue uniforms.
Dawson knew a lot of people would just sit and perve on the cheerleaders, but he wasn’t the sort of guy to just sit there and let his tongue roll out. He just checked them out through the corner of his eye. There were six of them, all with long, strong legs, wide smiles and shining eyes. They did the steps to the loud music in perfect time and perfect rhythm; Gale breathed in and clasped her hands together.
“Aren’t they beautiful?” she sighed. “Ooh…look there’s Jen.”
Jen was Dawson’s twin sister; she was beautiful, blonde and bounced around on the court like she was the basketball. Dawson grunted. Ooh, yay.
For almost three months he wasn’t allowed in the garage to get a coke because Jen had been practicing her cheerleading. But it was worth it because she looked great. They all got in line and each girl did a sort of wave and crouched down before the girl at the end jumped up with her pom-poms in the air.
Then, Dawson’s mouth dropped. Wow. His eyes were fixated on this one girl, with her swishing brown hair, beautiful doe brown eyes, slender figure and elegant face as she moved along with the other girls. Her dance steps were the same, but her movement, her beauty; her aura was in a different range altogether. She seemed to look straight at him as she danced, her blazing eyes locked into his. He felt like all the air in his body had been knocked out, leaving him gasping for breath. She was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen.
He didn’t notice when the dance stopped, and the crowd all clapped and cheered, impressed by the incredibly synchronized dance. Dawson was left in a daze as the girls trotted off the court, and the basketball game resumed playing.

“Dawson, your daydreaming again.” Gale said angrily, yanking her son so hard by the arm he nearly toppled over in surprise.
“Sorry.’ He mumbled, wincing as he looked at the nail marks on his arm.
“Mitch!” Gale said in her sugar sweet voice, waving to her husband who was talking to Jen, Pacey and…
Dawson’s heart started to thump hard and fast. The brunette.
She was standing right there, a coat over her cheerleading uniform, smiling as Pacey said something witty.
“Hello Jen, Pacey.” Gale said warmly, coming up to them and kissing Jen on the cheek.
“You were both fabulous this evening, weren’t they, Mitch?”
Mitch grinned. “My princess was beautiful.” Jen rolled her eyes but quickly smiled and nudged her friend.
“And who is this?” Gale asked, indicating towards the girl.
“Joey Potter.” Jen said, and Joey smiled. “Hi.”
“Hi Joey Potter.” Gale said warmly, shaking her hand. “You were great too.”
Joey’s eyes seemed to move in slow motion towards Dawson, before they settled on him.
He gulped. “This is…” Gale started to say.
“Dawson.” Dawson finished off.
“Uh…you were…really great tonight Joey.”
“Thanks.” She smiled, flipping her hair and looking him up and down. Jen rolled her eyes, aggravated.
“Well, mom, dad, Dawson…Jo and Pace and I are going out for a bite to eat. See you.” And she whisked them off hurriedly. Dawson stared after Joey, who had fallen into step beside Pacey.
And suddenly, her head seemed to turn a little so she was looking at him, and it was as if she knew how he felt…one eyelid coated with mascara and peachy eyeshadow, winked at him before she turned around again and walked out of view. He was in lust…

“So…is he your older brother?” Joey asked, taking a drag of Jen’s cigarette and leaning on the steering wheel.
“Who…Dawson? No, he’s my twin.” Jen replied, clicking her fingers, indicating she wanted the cigarette back.
Pacey laughed from the back of the car and took a swig of his beer. “They’re both about as alike as black and white.”
“He’s quiet.” Joey said.
“He’s a moron.” Jen sighed. “He’s a weirdo psycho. Don’t go near him, Joey.”
Joey laughed. “Wow, you sound as though you hate your brother.”
“I do.” Jen replied dryly.
“I’m leaving.” Pacey said, hopping out of the car and swinging the bottle around.
“My dad looks kind of…uh…fierce. See ya Joey…Jen.”
“Bye.” They replied in unison and he slammed the door, flashing a smile at Joey through the window.
Joey’s car was parked outside Jen’s house, the three of them had had a bite to eat and were now smoking and drinking as a small celebration for winning the basketball game.
“He’s kind of cute.” Joey said, flicking the cigarette ashes out the car window.
“Pacey?”
“Uh…n…” Joey started to say but Jen interrupted.
“Yeah, I know. I’ve known him for years, but we’ve never really like, dated.” Her grin widened and she waggled her eyebrows.
“You should go out with him…you have a crush on him, don’t you? You do!”
Joey laughed in response and handed Jen the cigarette. “What makes you say that?”
“He’s cute, he’s a basketball player, you’re a cheerleader, and you’re cute. It makes sense.” Jen said excitedly.
Suddenly, the light from the porch flipped on and Gale stepped out of the house.
“Jen honey!” she called. “Time to come in.” Jen groaned. “Great…” she opened the passenger door and stamped out the cigarette.
“Sayonara Joey. Mommy dearest is worried about me.” Joey shook her head in bemusement and rolled her eyes. “That’s such a drag. My dad lets me stay out for like, ever.”
“Your dad’s a convicted criminal.” Jen shot back, giggling and she walked unsteadily across the lawn as Joey’s car started.
“Are you drunk honey?” Gale said sweetly, brushing Jen’s fringe off her face.
“Leave me alone mom.” Jen said, sighing.

Dawson looked up from his homework to see a white BMW parked out front with two figures inside. Jen. And probably some boyfriend. His mother called, and Jen got out of the car. Busted. Dawson thought.
Then his head snapped up and he peered closer. Joey again. She was rolling her eyes as she started the car, and as Jen wobbled to the front door Joey’s car reversed then drove off out of sight. He sighed.

As usual, Dawson was quiet at dinner as he picked his plate.
Jen scoffed everything down.
“You’re such a hungry girl.” Gale said in a sugar-coated voice. “All that dancing.”
“Heh.” Dawson said.
“She’ll be seeing that potato salad again when she deposits it into the…”
“Shut-up Dawson!” Jen hissed, kicking his shin hard.
“You’re such a liar.”
“Hey kids, enough.” Mitch barked, holding up the palms of his hands.
“Dawson, leave your sister alone.” Dawson shrugged and continued to pick at his food.
“Dawson, eat all your dinner.” Gale said, sipping her wine.
“But I hate it when you make this shit.” Dawson said gruffly.
“It may be in a cookbook but…”
“Shut your mouth, Dawson Leery.” Mitch barked loudly, and Gale glared at her son.
“Then don’t eat it!” she retorted.
Dawson stayed silent and Jen rolled her eyes. “Jesus Dawson, you really know how to break a nice mood.” She said icily.
“Jesus Jen, roll your eyes one more time and they’ll get stuck, and you might black out.” Dawson snapped back.
“ALRIGHT!” Mitch roared.
“This is a nice, family dinner! The next one to make a sound will be grounded for a week!” Jen clamped her mouth shut.
Dawson sniggered.
****
“Uh-huh.” Gale was saying into the phone.
“I understand, after all…hmm.” Dawson poured himself some orange juice and blinked as the early morning sun poured into the kitchen. Jen padded in, yawning as Gale put down the phone with a heavy sigh.
"Well, Jen, Dawson. We'll be having a house guest stay here for the next six months." Gale said tiredly, sitting in a chair.
"Hmm." Jen grunted, blindly pouring herself some coffee and shoving Dawson out of the way.
"Your cousin, Jack." Gale went on ."The football player." "Not another jock." Dawson grumbled.
He could see it now...Jen, Pacey, Jack and Joey, all sitting together talking about sport, while he was all alone with his thoughts and dreams.
"Why is he staying with us?" Jen asked, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes.
"His mommy, your fathers sister, is in rehab." Gale said bluntly, re-applying her lipstick.
"Woah, again?" Dawson said. "Yes, again. So Jack will be occupying the guest room for the next six months. He'll be like family." she smiled widely and trotted off.
"Just what we need, an outsider witnessing our family be disgraced by Dawson."
"Or...well, I hate to see what Capeside would do about the case of 'kissing cousins.' in the Leery house." Dawson snapped back.
"You are disgusting!" Jen shrieked, belting him with the newspaper.
"I wouldn't put it past you..." Dawson yelled, trying to fend her off with his hands.
"Um...Jen?" Both stopped and looked up to see Joey standing in the doorway.
"Hey Joey, sorry you had to witness this." Jen said angrily, smoothing out her hair.
"That's okay." Joey said, smiling at Dawson and walking in.
"Hi Dawson."
"Uh...hi Joey..." he said, trying hard to swallow.
He quickly reverted his eyes but then put them back onto her. Something about her...her beauty...it was unlike anything he had ever seen before. He had an undying nagging feeling of wanting to film her. Her lips were perfect...lush, in a slight pout and painted with a slight pink color.
She blinked her eyes as in slow motion and ran her hand slowly through her thick, cascading hair. How he yearned to touch and smell that hair. He could smell her scent from where he was standing...roses, mixed with a soft citrus type note.
He vaguely heard Jen announce, "I'm going to get dressed. I'll be back down in five Jo."
"Sure." And then they were alone in the kitchen.
He went to work putting the juice away as slow as he could. He looked up and Joey smiled at him. "How are you, Dawson?" she asked, moving in closer.
He shut the fridge and reached for the glass of juice. "I'm...great." he answered, grinning nervously.
"That's good." she moved closer and he suddenly found it hard to breathe.
"Could you...possibly pass me the juice? I'm really thirsty." she said, licking her lips.
He gulped. "Sh-sure." He opened up the fridge and reached in, picking up the carton. He stood up and passed it to her. Their hands brushed and she stared right into his eyes, smiling.
"Thanks." she breathed, her face inches from his. His heart rate sped up so fast he felt as though he had everlast batteries inside it, pumping away, giving and receiving blood. But then she moved away and drunk out of the bottle, while staring out the window and subtly placing one hand on the bench, the other on her butt. He wished that were his hand.
"Em-em." Jen cleared her throat and Joey whipped around.
“Hey Jen."
"Hey." she had on clothes, her hair was impeccable and her make-up perfect.
She glared at Dawson, mouthing, "You were checking out her ass!"
No he wasn't! Was he?
"Lets go Jo." Jen grabbed Joey's arm and they disappeared out the kitchen. Finally, his heart rate slowed down and he was able to breathe. Wow.
****
"Your brother is adorable" Joey sighed as they got into the car.
Jen shrieked. "Joey...what did I tell you? Don’t go near him."
Joey opened her mouth to speak when the back door opened and Pacey toppled in.
"Hey y'all, I need a ride." he said, shutting the door.
"DRIVE! My dad's really pissed at me..." Joey turned the engine on and pressed the accelerator, driving away.
"Jesus Pacey!" Jen exclaimed. Pacey sighed and sat up straight.
"Sorry. I had to get away. My father's pissed at me because I answered back, again."
"Your father is fierce." Jen said, applying lipstick in the rearview mirror.
"Yeah well, I don't think of him as my father." Pacey sighed.
"Can we not discuss this?" he finished.
****
"A...a D?" Mitch growled in disbelief, looking at Dawson's Math’s assignment as Joey and Jen whisked past them and up the stairs to Jen's room.
"Dad, Joey's sleeping over!" Jen called. Dawson tripped and fell headfirst into the wall. Mitch grabbed the cuff of his shirt and yanked him up.
"Since you suck at anything physical, maybe you should concentrate on your studies?" Mitch yelled. Dawson said nothing and peered over Mitch's shoulder where his camera was sitting safely on the kitchen table. He had plans for that camera.
"I guess so. This was just one time, dad." Dawson said quietly, trying to get out of his dads' way. “Make sure it stays that way." Mitch said, and shoved him away.
Dawson sighed and rubbed his temples; he had a headache coming on. He wished his father wouldn’t throw him around like that. He grabbed his camera and started up the stairs to his room.
****
“DAWSON!” Gale yelled from the dining room, as she set down several bowls.
“DINNER!” then she muttered, “If you’ll eat it.”
Dawson came running down the stairs but stopped short when he saw Joey seated at the table, next to Jen.
“You better eat it tonight, or you’ll be in trouble.” Gale said sweetly, sitting down at the far end of the table.
Dawson went over and sat opposite Joey at the only chair left.
“Well, Joey, when did you get into cheerleading?” Mitch asked in a friendly tone.
“A year ago.” She replied, sipping her drink and meeting eyes with Dawson across the table.
“My mom got me into it, and I love it, so I’ve been doing it ever since.”
“That’s wonderful.” Gale said, passing Joey some garlic bread. “Our Jen has been a dancer since she was six years old.”
“Jen’s excellent.” Joey said, and Jen laughed.
“She’s our pride.” Mitch laughed casually.
“I always wanted a child of mine to become star athlete of Capeside High…hasn’t happened, but Jen is the closest thing to that.”
Dawson seemed un-effected as he picked at his food, but inside he was boiling.
“What do you do, Dawson?” Joey asked out of the blue. Jen rolled her eyes and Mitch frowned.
“Well…I…” he started.
“He never leaves his camera alone.” Jen finished.
“He’s always filming dumb stuff like paper bags, and trees and people when they are not looking. He’s such a perve.”
“I’m not a perve.” He answered coldly. “And what would you know? How do you know what I film is dumb?”
“I just do.” Jen answered snottily.
“Stop it now!” Mitch warned them. “You have a guest, Jen.”
Joey giggled. “It’s okay.”
“Yeah, Joey can’t help her friend has an asshole for a brother.” Jen mumbled.
“Or an asshole for a friend.” Dawson retorted.
****
“You two are always fighting.” Joey said as she lay on Jen’s bed, reading YM magazine.
“I hate him, that’s why.” Jen said bluntly, grounding her teeth she ripped off the wax from her leg and yelped a little.
“Okay. Jen, it’s your turn to quiz me.” Joey said, handing Jen the magazine. Jen put down the waxing kit and sat down in her chair. “Okay. Number one…are you a virgin?”
Joey snorted. “Of course not.” “Okay…”Jen ticked something on the page.
“Straight to question five. How many lovers have you had?” Joey started to count on her fingers and Jen squealed with laughter.
“More then ten?” Jen asked.
Joey shrugged. “Yeah…I guess.” Jen laughed in disbelief.
“Onto question eight…what was the biggest penis size?” She giggled so hard she fell off her chair and Joey laughed as well.
“What sort of question is that?”
Jen shrugged and poised the pen to the page. “Well?” Joey cocked her head to one side.
“Umm…fifteen centimeters?” Jen gasped and fumbled for her ruler.
“Wow! How did you fit it all in?” Joey sighed. “Easy. If you can open up big enough for a baby, it’s easy for something like a dick to fit in.”
“Hmmm you’re right.” Jen started to giggle again. Then she stopped. “Ugh!” “What?” Joey looked up from painting her nails.
“My brother and Pacey are watching us from next door.” Joey’s head snapped up.
“Really?”
“Uh-huh.” Jen frowned, getting up, and going over to the curtains. “I hate them! Stupid perverts!” she turned and stormed out. “I’m going to get Dawson in trouble.”
Once Jen was gone Joey rushed to the window. She could see Dawson’s camera, and wondered if he knew she was watching him as well. Pacey was laughing, both hadn’t realized Joey and Jen knew they were looking in.
****
“Joey’s at the window.” Pacey said. “She’s so hot!”
“She’s beautiful.” Dawson sighed. “I must film her. She’s an art piece.”
“PACEY!” Mr. Witter bellowed from downstairs.
“Shit.” Pacey hissed.
He quickly walked out. Dawson turned back to the window, and in looking, nearly dropped his camera.
Joey was slowly sliding her top up the sides of her slim, smooth body, exposing her naked breasts. “Holy shit!” Dawson gasped the view all wobbly.
And then the curtains were spread back, blocking the view of the room.
“DAWSON!” Jen screeched.
“MOM AND DAD SAY YOU HAVE TO COME HOME, RIGHT NOW!” Dawson groaned. Jen was the only girl he knew who could keep the same tone when yelling like that.
He turned and walked out of Pacey’s room, still shaking.
