My mom loved to sing and dance. Every time we went to a gathering, we always got up and sang Proud Mary. It was good times. She was always musical. Actually, my whole family is...well, almost. LOL
Ever since I can remember my mom was always singing; in a band, in the car, at church...sing, sing, sing. She used to be in a band called "CJ'S FATE". I was really young then but can still remember. She had a cassette tape of the band but along the years it has got lost. I have tried to find the other members over the years, but had no luck. I remember we would go camping all the time. She wuld bring her guitar and her and her friends would sit around and sing. I miss that; listening to her play the guitar. She was outstanding. She even taught herself how to play. There was no end to what she could do. Anything she set her mind to, she did it. One of the songs I remember the most is "Amy". I dont know who sings it. She would play her tambourine with that song. Beautiful music. I miss my moms voice. She even wrote a song for me to sing me to sleep when I was younger...and sometimes sang it to me in my teens too. Her name means "blind". And she was blind...blind to prejudice and hate. She was the true lover of everyone. She is the one that taught me not to prejudge anyone. When I was a teen, I started dating balck men and she wasn't too happy about it. I thought she was racist until I found out that she just didn't want me with a thug wether it be black or white and the men that I was talking to were thugs. It's weird how everyone makes their own impressions of how you feel or what you say. I try not to do that now. My mom has taught me that everyone is equal. God puts everyone here for a purpose and he is the only judge.
