Kanagawa perfecture (Kanagawa-ken) is located in the Kanto region on Honshu island, Japan. Kanagawa is well known for the popularity of soccer. It is also the perfecture in which the manga Love Hina takes place. 

Honshu is the largest island of Japan, called the mainland. The island is roughly 1800km long and ranging from 50 to 240 km wide. It is montainous and volcanic with frequent earthquakes. The highest peak is Mount Fuji at 3,776 m. There are many rivers, including Shinano, Japan's longest. The climate is highly variable from the cool north to the subtropical south. Honshu is connected to the rest of Japan via tunnels and bridges.
