Well, so much for the adventurous ideas of the ASPCJ Mark 2. Sadly the Mk 2 fell flat on its cyber-ass with only 2,000 extra visitors added to the hit counter.
The 'Australian Artists' pages started rather pathetically and then slowly went down hill. "Not much point in creating Oz talent pages and then burying them in a Jewel site" was the response from the new and previously enthusiastic [now resigned] web-designers. Umm, when bladders are not full of Southern Comfort... ideas are viewed in a much clearer light.
And yes... the worst ever idea the ASPCJ ever dreamt up [Southern Comfort inspired or otherwise] was to invite fellow Kilcherians from all over the planet to sing the praises of Jewel Kilcher's endless talents. Sadly, after firing off over twenty invitations to the most dedicated Kilcherians in the Land of Kilcher, only one (YES... ONLY ONE !!!) Kilcherian responded.
Kiera Bird, moderator of the official Jewel site, wrote two brilliant articles attracting rare and unusual messages [later identified as letters of praise] to the ASPCJ website... but sadly the ASPCJ was hoping for five (minimum of three) fresh positive writers to ensure new pages constantly appeared on the site.
Sadly... the ASPCJ Mark 2 bites the cyber-dust.
So... welcome to the unheralded ASPCJ Mark 3 which is now aimlessly drifting in cyberspace. After Christmas it'll return to its old format and be all Australian again. Rest comfortably in the knowledge that Kilcherians much prefer to rubbish the ASPCJ than take part in a truly fan-driven Jewel site.
So Kilcherians, sharpen up your cyber-pens, fill your ink-wells with poison and practice writing four letter words as the ASPCJ will re-launch in its original format... only now, claiming absolutely no pretenses of providing a fair and balanced site.
Hopefully we'll knock up some fun pages for you...
